SPECULATION Episode VIII Wishlist

Throughout the various amazing threads on this forum, I have seen endless speculation and countless ideas, wants, hopes, and hilarious crackpot theories. After The Force Awakens I think we all have more questions than answers, so I thought it would be fun to create some sort of "wish list" for Episode VIII... regardless of what may actually happen, and since we have no idea really, what do you want to happen??

All thoughts are welcome, no matter how crazy they are!

And please keep in mind, this is not meant to be a news or rumors thread... this is just to see where all of our Star Wars crazy minds have wondered! And for the love of the force, NO SPOILERS! Please don't discount anyone's ideas because you know something will or won't happen.

So, fellow Cantina patrons, what do you want to see in Stars Wars: Episode VIII ?

 

It's on my list! Haha. Speaking of...

Rey: Jedi training with Luke is obvious, but I really want to see her explore her newfound force powers. Maybe she does something we've never seen before, maybe something that surprises or even scares Luke. Considering how quickly she discovered her abilities in TFA, I think the possibilities are endless here.

Luke: Help us Luke Skywalker, you're our only hope! It's been too long, and the appearance in TFA just teased our curiousities... I need to see what he has been doing while in exile, and find out what exactly drove him there. And, I want to see Luke back in the fight! I hope to see a little edge to the last jedi, as well.

Kylo Ren: I'm really curious to see what killing his father has done to him. Like many have said, I think it will have the opposite effect as expected, that instead of making him darker, he feels that pull to the light even more. Also, as Rey trains with Luke, I would like to see Kylo train with Snoke and "complete his training" as was mentioned. I imagine this to be rather intense, and expect to be feeling more sympathetic than angry towards Ren by the end of the film. Like, he knows he is wrong, but is in too deep now to turn back.

Knights of Ren: Who? Why? Where? How?

Finn: I want his allegiance to be tested like never before... Maybe being caught in a controversial mission that makes him wonder if the Resistance is what he thought it was. And for all of Finn's successes in TFA, which most likely has garnered him some kind of leadership role within the Resistance, I want to see him struggle with that position that has been thrust upon him, and his (assumed) "hero" status. I hate to say it, but this time around, I kinda want to see Finn fail. Oh also- get a lightsaber in that kid's hands again!

I could go on and on about character development so I'll switch gears to a few scenes instead:

-Memorial for Han Solo. And that long overdo hug between Leia and Chewie (please!)
-Luke and Leia reunion
-No superweapon; instead, a super villain (worse than Kylo Ren) who maybe opposes or has a different agenda than Snoke. The Rebels / Imperials and the like has been going on for awhile and the galaxy is a huge place. There has to be another side to this conflict!
-Massive space battle
-R2-D2 and C-3PO, back and better than ever. Also- A squabble between BB-8 and R2-D2 would be hilariously epic.
-Force ghosts. Enough said. (Han...?! I know as we know it, that's not currently possible. But one can hope!)
-What drives Hux? Or scares him? I got the impression that Snoke wasn't quite it... and Ren definitely wasn't.

There is so much left to say, just starting with some basics. I have to stop for now haha. GAH, and I didn't even touch on Rey's parents!

 

How about.. a rancor in battle?? Trained by the First Order.. it/they would essentially be a loose canon, but would be fun to see in action!

 

Agree! I want to see this theme with most of the new leads (Rey, Finn, Kylo) and think it's very easily possible. Finn too readily gave up the First Order, Rey is too easy to root for right now, and Kylo is too easily dismissed as a lost cause. I think there's room for all of them to stray from those paths and make us think twice about how we initially perceived them.

 

So, I'm assuming that once free of Snoke, he begins his path to redemption. And I want to see that go something like this...

Kylo Ren discovers the location of Ahch-To, and Luke Skywalker. He gathers the Knights of Ren and heads there to dispose of him, once and for all. He finds Luke, and Rey. An epic battle occurs. All of the KoR are killed. Kylo Ren, Luke, and Rey are all still alive, but have all suffered heavy wounds. Luke battles Kylo Ren to near defeat. Ren, losing his lightsaber in the process, is now at Luke's mercy. Rey shouts at Luke to finish him. Luke gets a pained look on his face, and extinguishes his lightsaber and walks away. Kylo, surprised, hurls a few force attacks which Luke easily bats away. As Luke walks away he tells Rey, "You both have much to learn."

Then, Luke begins the "detox" of Ben. It's a long process, and Luke is patient with Ben. He doesn't force it. But, trapped on the island and free of other influences, Ben eventually starts to come around. Rey objects to it at first, but soon she understands that she needs to help Ben, not kill him. And with Rey and Luke's help, Ben Solo comes back to the light. Luke, Rey, and Ben then leave Ahch-To.... as allies.

Now this would most likely involve Luke and Rey remaining on Ahch-To for the entire movie, which I think is very unlikely, and this would take awhile and that would probably be how Episode VIII ends. So I doubt it will happen. But, luckily, this is about what we want to happen, not what may happen.
