SPECULATION Eventual Blu-ray Release - Required Extras

    Don't know if I've made a thread for this as nothing came up from searching.

    I know it's too soon to discuss this, but since Star Wars DVDs/Blu-rays are known for their quality and quantity of bonus features, what should be on the Blu-ray of Episode VII in 2016? For me, I'd like to see the following which I think all distributors should include:

    - Commentaries
    - Blu-ray Exclusives (Extended cuts, Pop-up Trivia Tracks)
    - Documentaries
    - Featurettes
    - Deleted Scenes
    - Music Videos
    - Trailers
    - TV Spots
    - Photo Gallery

    Lately Disney has been putting no more than roughly 30 minutes of extras on their titles, so I'd expect them to go all out for this movie.

    We need a big documentary ala The Beginning, which will have a shot of George Lucas being told to shut the hell up, while being forced to watch the prequels on an endless loop.

    Its the only extra I care about and have been hoping for it for years. I would love to throw on star wars to just watch the images set to John Williams excellent music. I think i would watch that more than the movies themselves.

    I cant wait to see the documentary! I hope it will be around 2 hours long. Then we can really see our impact as fans with all the spying and stuff. I also cant wait to buy a huge book full of The Force Awakens concept art. Even the Concept Art Book for Episode III was amazing and the movie wasnt even good haha.

    Isn't that what I was listening to at 5 years old? An original sountrack?... OST
    How about a few short one shots leading UP TO the film.... prologues :D that would be a pretty awesome marketing gimmick I think.... doubtful but.... disney if you're listening.........

    I'm trying to find the story but, I remember the fan that won the Force for Change contest won a spot in a documentary that will be excluded on the Episode VII BluRay. So I have to believe we'll get a documentary on the making of Episode VII. Hopefully they'll be at least a little something with George talking more in-depth about the ST.

    No. Some DVD's and Blu Rays come with a score only track. I've seen them on Amadeus and the Alien films in my personal library. The entire movie plays as normal, but with dialogue and sound effects removed. So, you watch the entire movie but the only sound is the score. Like a 2 hour music video. I've been wanting to see that from a Star Wars movie since the Laser Disk days.

    Just checked the JB Hi-Fi website and it looks like the Blu-ray will come with 2 discs.

    I completely utterly agree with the doc suggestion. I'd love to see the film go from initial planning all the way to opening night.

    I'd love to get a Peter Jackson-style TFA extended version, with all the deleted scenes - without limiting any of the foregoing - from the trailer we didn't get to see in the theatrical cut.

    This. JJ Abrams told that the first cut was like 2 hours and 40 minutes.

    Plus documentaries, commentaries, featurrettes, and sure deleted scenes but that is a bit much with an extended version a la Peter Jackson
