I just listened to them both again and they are nearly interchangeable. The Snoke theme has more consonant breaks (I'm totally ignorant of music terminology). The Snoke theme also has some flashes of strings at the end. Maybe as Snoke "materializes" in the upcoming movies, this music will change and take more shape as well. This music is so sinister and awesome at any rate.

Whoever Snoke is, I'm convinced his story will converge with the story of the first Jedi temple that Luke goes in search of. If I'm right about this, it would indicate that Snoke is at least in touch with something very ancient, something Luke has touched and has been trying to find. I like the idea of Snoke being Plagueis, but what if he's something immensely more ancient? Something that existed when then first Jedi temple did? This could be even more powerful.

Whatever the answers to these questions are, I really hope we get a window onto the early history of the Jedi in the next two films. It would make sense for Luke to tap into the origins of the Jedi in order to revive after it's been threatened with extinction - perhaps for the first time since the order was originally established.

I like where your idea is going. Kylo's light sabre looks ancient and only an ancient Sith Lord could have shown him how to build it and it may coincide with the Jedi temple Luke found.

Ah yes, I'd forgotten about that. I remember the idea being floated that Kylo's lightsaber was of an ancient design, but I can't remember now if that was just rumor or if it came from some official source.

One thing that's worth pointing out is that Maz says that she's seen evil take many forms in her long lifetime. I wonder if this is meant to suggest that we shouldn't think of the Sith as being the end-all be-all of the dark side. Nowhere is it said that Snoke or the Knights of Ren are Sith, and the lack of any mention of a Sith title ("Darth ____"), even when they're talking amongst themselves, would suggest otherwise. My bet is that whatever answers we get will have to do with this ancient Jedi temple.

I'm very pro Plagueis, but the opera music sounds like The Emperor's music just before Luke and Vader fight on the Death Star and is the same music playing as when Anakin turns after Windu is flung into Coruscant. It's still interesting that Snoke has this music as well though. Perhaps it's to make the connection to Palpatine and foreshadow a reveal of him as Plagueis in the future. I hope so at least.

Now that the soundtrack is on Youtube, everyone can listen and compare. They do sound soooo similar.

Darth Plagueis was killed by Darth Sidious. It is known. Darth Sidious was killed by Dath Vader. It is known.

I believe it was Kathleen Kennedy who mentioned that Kylo Ren is not a Sith. We also know that Supreme Leader Snoke is a tall slender character, approximately seven feet in height. These are things we know to be true.

What does Kylo Ren see in the helmet of Darth Vader? In the end, Anakin redeemed himself. Who then, would be leading Kylo Ren into the darkness? It could be the presence of evil within Darth Vader, but it is all rather curious at this point in time. I do believe the Sith to be dead, but the Dark Side of The Force is still strong, and will be forever present in the universe.

Agreed. Kylo Ren is about to complete his training. He's not a Sith but may be one soon. (If Snoke is)

I'm thinking he could be Plagueis but there is very little evidence for or against

Plagueis was killed by Sidious in his sleep, according to the story Sidious tells. It was never shown in one of the movies. Without it ever being shown, the fact that it happened while he was supposedly asleep, Palpatine's arrogance, and Plagueis' immense power, he very well could've survived to become Snoke. He also very well could be dead. That's something we don't actually know and hopefully will find out in the next movie.

Im still holding out for Snoke to be Darth Plagueis. Although initially disappointed by his appearance at first, I think once we see him 'non-hologram' he'll look at lot clearer and a lot better. I think the size of the hologram is, as someone mentioned perviously, very ESB Darth Sidious-esq. Hes just large and in charge and the size just symbolises how powerful he is.

As it isnt canon now that Plagueis was a Muun they can easily make Snoke Plagueis. As far as the 'there are only ever two Sith and he has the Knights Of Ren now' - Snoke refers to Kylo as the Master of Ren - implying he isnt the master of the Knights of Ren and its Kylo that is. Also because he followed the rules of the Sith, it eventually ended with his 'death' (the apprentice killed the master). As Ive previously read if Snoke is Darth Plagueis he could have just renounced that Sith and no longer wants to play by their rules and risk being killed again by another apprentice.

Judging by alot of the evidence we are starting to uncover its looking more and more like he is indeed plagueis.

Plagueis in the EU hated the rule of two because of what happened with him and his master. He wanted to end it which is why Maul is used as a Sith assassin. Nominally he's a Sith lord, sure, but in actuality they only used him to do some dirty work. Whether that's all kept as canon or not, I think he's just using the Ren as pawns, and my guess is that if anyone is gonna be a Sith with him, it's Kylo, who in turn controls the Ren as a tool of Snoke and himself. He probably wants to turn Luke or Rey to the dark side and dump Kylo eventually as well, just as Palpatine planned to dump Dooku for Anakin and Vader for Luke, which explains Han telling Kylo that he'll be used and discarded. He may or may not be Sith, but we know for sure that the rule of two is long dead.

I agree. There are a lot of subtle nudges toward him being Plagueis and nothing at all that goes against it.
