Man, Rian so much gets it. His comments are great, he put a lot of thought into the motivations of the characters. As for Kylo, I'm getting some serious redemption vibes from this (which I like). Or at least a deeper psychological perspective, which is much better than making him just a badder dude.
    YES.

For me i just didn't think of him as another Vader, and as I watched TFA I realized he was the opposite of Anakin and I saw a lot of Han in him too, so this stuff Rian and Daisy revealed is not surprising to me at all. Rian also apparently posted a pic of Kylo Ren and called him a sweetheart, which freaked people out lol

    Haha I remember that!

Looks like Kylo's PR is all about him being a sexy, scarred, brooding, lost man with a good heart buried among the darkness within in. What is this? Fanfiction? lol

    "The aspiring Sith"...
Is there no one at this publication qualified to write about SW? They couldn't find one person who watched TFA and actually paid attention?

    I am aboslutely confused now.
    from the article, OP link.

............."He said Kylo and Rey are “two halves of the dark and the light.”.............

...............Kylo Ren’s murder of Han Solo also makes Rey’s contempt for him much more personal. He’s no longer just a random madman terrorizing the galaxy. Rey has a grudge: He stole from her the father-figure she’d been searching for her whole life................

Mey I say what I feel?

I do not know was it already debated:

I think Kylo and Rey could be brother and sister.

I have the bad feeling that Hux won't have a big a part in this movie. I think that's Phasma's fault. Everyone was hyped about Phasma before TFA was released, but then she didn't delivered. Now LF tries to "redeem" her character at the cost of Hux's screentime.

For me it does say the exact opposite.

It looks to me also strange but why would Rey take Kylo on personal level because she feel he killed the farther she never had Han,...I mean just that talking.

Than it says the Rey and Kylo are "two halves of the dark and the light". I am not sure two halfs of what? Of family?

Rey is good, and she can't understand how Kylo could kill Han, she would never do this.

I really can't say what are my feelings but...

I have now a mess in my head, sorry.

Yeah I think her anger at Ren over his killing of Han is personal to her because Han was someone she liked the idea of being her father. She's looking to find her family or make one along the way. Kylo Ren is set to destroy his family peice by peice. Hes someone who grew up almost as royalty, surrounded by a mother & father who loved him, and by Luke and Chewie and everyone. which is all Rey really wanted, a family and a place to be. instead she grew up abandoned with nothing on Jakku. and so when she meets Han and gets to know this guy who she ends up idolising, it must be a real kick in the teeth when she finds out not only is Kylo Ren his lost son, but Ren then kills him.

They are on opposite trajectories. Ren is looking to destroy everything that could connect to him. Rey is looking to connect with people and the galaxy in a wider way.

Kylo Ren is actually practicing a warped version of letting go of attachment as preached by the PT jedi. He's looking to let go of it and to prove he has done so, he's literally destroying the things he feels attatchment to.
Obviously this hasn't panned out the way he thought because he actually did love Han, he's not cold and dead inside. he's all burning emotion and thats why he's failing, because he's not detatched at all and him trying to detach by force is breaking him. its also why Rey doesn't understand him, she probably thinks he killed his own father because he hated him. but I would say the opposite is true.
He killed Han because he loved him.

They also seem to carry both Light and Dark in them, instead of being Light and Dark and leaning one way only.

This carry light and dark thing is absurd. Being dark or light has always been a choice. Now your telling me that some are born with dark medicholorans and some born with light but these two (Rey and Ben) have equal dark and light medichlorians?

It is an absurd direction to take the "Force"'.

If your "born" with light and dark then how could 'using' one or the other change your path? I hope they do not permanently damage the "Force" lol.

To me using the light or dark has been a personal decision on what kind of person you want to be Good or Bad. If you use the dark you will become a bad person and do hateful mean things to others.

The "force" should remain ambiguous and a mystery with characters attempting to understand it and explore what it is but never to be solved.

I think the idea isn't that one has darkness in them exactly. but It relates to something I read in an interview somewhere about Kylo Ren. 'The brighter the light the darker the shadow.' Which is very similar to a Ursula le Quinn quote they included in the TFA art book, but its not exactly the same.
I think that quote would apply to Anakin (And also Luke) too.

Kylo Ren had a bright light in him, his potential, but that also casts a shadow for great potential evil. That was my take on it. Because if he has so much 'Vader' in him, he must also have a lot of the good 'anakin' in him too. I think this has more to do with how Leia and Han didn't undertand what to do with a kid with so much potnetial.
And obviously Luke didn't do much better.

Kylo Ren see's himself, or at least Snoke does, as a perfect balance of old lightside teachings and new darkside ones. but this is flawed obviously as Kylo Ren isn't great and he's not 'balanced' his constant fighting internally between the light and the dark are stunting him, and damaging him. For a magic space wizard monk, he is by far the least 'zen' of any force user we've yet seen. anyway yeah I think the whole 'brighter the light, darker the shadow.' line is how they're playing this. but thats not true at all in light physics as light literally oblitorates shadow...so its just an anacdote I've heard them use a couple times in relation to Kylo Ren and 'the balance'

"He is less a human-shaped thing and more a pulsing, living band of light. Light that sometimes dims, that sometimes is thrust through with a vein of darkness. She tells herself that it’s normal—Luke said to her, Leia, we all have that. He explained that the brighter the light, the darker the shadow."

just fyi ~ from Aftermath: Empire's End.
Luke literally says it to Leia. so yeah, potentially significant.
