It's 2017 all over again. In a new segment from the interview that Total Film did with Ewan McGregor, the actor said he'd be open to returning to the role again:

The Obi-Wan Kenobi series has always been promoted as the return of both McGregor and Christensen to their roles from the Star Wars prequels, but it's always been assumed that would be it. However, over the past few months, there have been some indications that there may be more to come for both actors. First, Christensen was reported to be appearing in the Ahsoka Disney Plus series in October, and then, in March, Entertainment Weekly published an interview with studio head Kathleen Kennedy where she said there could be room for a second season of the show.

Obi-Wan Kenobi had initially been pitched as a six-episode limited series, a contained story if there ever was one. But according to Kennedy, the cast and crew had so much fun on set that they were talking about another season. Let's all remember that Ewan McGregor repeatedly said that he'd love to come back to the role even after he'd been in numerous discussions with Lucasfilm, so this certainly feels like a déjà vu.

Obi-Wan Kenobi will debut on Disney Plus on May 27, one month from the posting of this article. Deborah Chow will be directing all six hour-long episodes. Stay tuned for more news on the series, as we might get a trailer in the coming days that could finally show Darth Vader in action.

No doubt, playing Obi-Wan Kenobi will keep him a part of history long after he is gone.

There go my hopes for him to be transformed into Alec Guinness at the end of the series, as a result of force lightning or plastic surgery to hide his identity. (blue)

Eh... seems like an odd idea, to continue it.

But then again, the whole series seemed odd to me at first, but the trailer blew me away.

I guess I can't really have much of an opinion until I've at least seen the first season. But I guess, if anything, it's a good sign that they feel optimistic enough about it to even consider future stuff.
