Didn’t all the Ewoks get crushed by the Death Star and are now extinct?

I thought the DS2 crashed into the planet Endor. The Ewoks live on one of the moons.

I mean the shockwave would’ve killed the Ewoks anyway, but fables are permitted to bend the laws of physics. :)

Yeah, ok. I would advise you to get into the habit of googling the authenticity of sites and sources. That side is a privately owned webpage with no connection to LFL; they are best known for posting fake movie trailers and the like, I think :)

I just rewatched TROS, and I was mistaken. The Death Star wreckage is on one of the moons of Endor.

However, it could still be a different moon than the one the Ewoks live on.

Yes, "Endor" is actually the gas giant. The Ewok "planet" is "The Forest Moon" aka. "Sanctuary Moon". The Second Death Star bits in TROS landed on another moon of Endor, named "Kef Bir". In other words, there are several moons of Endor, and the RotJ moon & TRoS moon are not the same celestial body.

The Ewoks seem to be fine to me. Fun fact - that's actually Wicket from RotJ (and ambiguoshly canon Ewok movies) and his son.

THANK YOU FOR CLEARING THAT UP. THE EWOKS ARE SAFE! (AT LEAST SOME IF THEY WERE RADIATED BY THE DEATH STAR)

You're welcome. There are, as far as I know, no information to suggest the Ewoks suffered any ill effect from the destruction of the 2nd Death Star. (And radiation is barely mentioned in SW, I think?). In any case, the Ewoks are, in canon & legends, doing fine post-RotJ.

    Also possibly worth noting-

I SWBFII (2017), the space around Endor seems littered with debris.

So, while some probably crashed onto Endor and its moons after the battle, a lot of it probably either simply floated around for a while.

And if we had to guess, the New Republic probably set out in a relief effort to clean up the area a bit (as well as scavenge/scrap it), as well as to provide humanitarian aid to the Ewoks.

Not that any of that is canonized, but it seems likely.

it was not the same moon that the ewoks were on.

Yeah if anything was far fetched it was that huge chunk of Death Star surviving the explosion, entry into an atmosphere and smashing into the surface of a planet. Even the throne was intact and upright. Star Wars has never let science get in the way of a story though.

    Exactly.

And this information you can find in the visual dictionary of TROS.

As a kid I thought he was saying Sentry Moon. It kinda made sense, they had a garrison up there. Made more sense than Yavin being the planet of Maximum Philosophy, as a kid I thought it was a weird detail to give the Moff as he approached the planet to destroy it at Maximum Velocity but maybe dude gets off on knowing some personal details about his victims... I don't know I'm like 5. I wasn't entirely sure what philosophy meant but I guess I knew it was a word. I'm guessing from hearing 3PO saying "philosopher" earlier in the movie.

Unless they've already been stricken from canon one of those Aftermath novels had former Rebel soldiers with PTSD being assigned emotional support Ewoks. If it made other mention of them I can't remember.

According to Wookiepedia, there are (IIRC) several post-RotJ ewoks at large in the galaxy, including... a master computer slicer

Didn’t the death star remains end up on that water wave planet. Or was that the first death star on the water planet?
