And if a rumor of a battle on a Jungle planet is right, Ewok soldiers would be the perfect fit for the task. New Alliance special Ewok squad that is.

They managed to create smaller Pilot helmets for younglings training and small lightsabers. Why not guns, shields, special boots, jetpacks. They figured out how to pilot a AT-ST and a speeder, without training nor instruction guide.
They are one of the New Alliance biggest asset.

Chewbacca piloted and AT-ST while two ewoks rode shotgun.

One ewok turned on a speeder and had no ability to drive it and nearly died in the process (probably because he was able to observe stormtroopers using the vehicles previously, since you know... they were occupying their moon)

That is exactly how they were used in "empire at war: forces of corruption"

Let's go over the bold text first.

"lose the ability to hurt and kill people" - I don't know that I mentioned this in either of my posts. I did imply, though, that it is remarkable a force armed with spears, axes, logs, and rocks could defeat a force armed with blasters, large military walkers with much larger blasters, speeder bikes with large blasters, etc. I still stand by this, without discounting the fact that spears, axes, and logs can - in fact - cause damage to things.

"do laser guns now produce impenetrable shields around people and ascend them to god hood?" - Great question! Again, unrelated to anything that I have typed in this thread (and anywhere else, for that matter) - but let's talk about it. I personally don't see how a blaster could produce an impenetrable shield nor ascend one to god hood, but that certainly is a fun concept. Maybe they will cover that in Episode VII!

"they are no super soldiers, they are not master chiefs just because they wear armor" - Just scanned my former posts for any mention of "super soldier" or "master chiefs" (is that a Halo reference?) - Didn't see either one mentioned. Are they super soldiers? Are they Master Chiefs? No, but they are the standing army of the Galactic Empire, a force which literally rules the entire galaxy. I would expect more from them than what I saw in ROTJ, which is the whole point of this discussion.

I'm not sure where you got the idea that storm trooper armor was meant "more to intimidate than to protect" or that all storm troopers were completely disposable, or poorly trained. I understand the running joke of storm troopers having horrible aim, definitely. But to imply that all storm troopers were completely inadequate really downplays the fact that they were the muscle behind the Empire, y'know, ruling the galaxy.

Again - and apparently I'm crazy for thinking this - but when we compare a primitive, alien species made up of two foot tall teddy bears to regular-sized humans in armor with science fiction weaponry and vehicles it seems like a complete no-brainer what the outcome would be.

I assume your reference to "kinect" was kinetic energy and not the x-box add-on. If wondering how the storm troopers - with their completely advanced technology and actual experience with war - could be defeated by the cutest fighting force this side of the power puff girls makes me lack some sort of knowledge in physics and kinetic energy, I must admit defeat. Clearly I am out of my element here.

I dont know, maybe the fact that they wear impractical skull helmets....

I am sure the K.E.K.A.S.S. Squad 1.0 was created right after the Celebration in ROTJ, a bunch of Ewok warriors took all the collected helmets (that briefly served as a Xylophone) and weapons, and started training in secret.

I agree. If this continues to go off topic, the thread will be locked.
The point of the thread is not the Battle of Endor but about the Rebels taking Ewoks with them afterwards.

Exactly, and that was meant to be serious. To recapitulate:

Ewoks are heroes after the Battle of Endor and proved to be skilled warriors in certain climates/hostile planet.

Like Calamaris in ROTJ, that would ba a waste for the Alliance to leave them on Endor.

That is why I can logically see in Episode VII, some of the Ewok heroes from ROTJ as ranked officers (Wicket could be one)... And a special squad that could help the Alliance in certain situations.

Warwick Davis was signed for this one :)

    Let's break it down.

    Could the Ewoks leave?
Yes. After the Battle of Endor any number of Ewoks could have left with the Rebels. They could of had the opportunity to leave as trading posts were set up and traffic went to and from the Moon of Endor. Plus, it's been thirty years, who knows how technologically advanced they have become.

Would the Ewoks leave? Yes. I believe some of them would have wanted to leave. Ewoks are curious by nature. Some of them would have jumped at the chance to go. Some of them may have even been invited to leave. I'm sure Chief Chirpa and Logray would have been invited to meet with the Alliance. Although I don't think either of them would of left, they may have picked an Ewok to go and represent Bright Tree Village and all of the Ewoks. Because of his bond with Leia, Wicket may have been chosen. Other Ewoks would leave to pursue a new world.

Should the Ewoks leave? This is a though question. Obviously the Ewoks have a right to be part of the Galaxy and represent themselves. The biggest hurdle they would face wouldn't be technology, they have already shown they can adapt and learn. Their biggest challenge would be facing themselves. Ewoks have a very strong family and belief structure. It would be hard to give that up. They would have to leave their families and their beliefs behind. This may be detrimental to them, but I believe some of them could work past all that, face new challenges and become major players in the galaxy.

It would be wrong to assume there aren't any Ewoks in space.

This article brings up a great point.

There would be absolutely nothing for them to do in terms of space combat - aside from taking part in planning/command duties. I suppose the prosthetic limbs joke could actually become a reality, and would be sort of cool to see. Aside from that, though, they would almost need special ships built especially for their small build. I could see little mini A-wings rocketing around blasting down TIEs, that would be pretty neat.

I think they coolest role an Ewok could play is a Jedi, though. I always liked Lowbacca (Chewie's nephew) in the EU - Something about having a species we already know an love wielding a lightsaber and using the force was just a really cool concept. Perhaps this could be done on a (literally) smaller scale in the sequel trilogy - adding a butt-kicking force-leaping lightsaber-swinging Ewok to our group of heroes would be pretty neat.

Don't forget, Yoda also had a star fighter of his own and he may be even shorter than an Ewok.

There isn't any reason to assume that Ewoks aren't building their own ships now. It doesn't matter if you are smaller or bigger than an average human.
    Size matters not.

Wicket could have been Leia's padawan learner.
