[IMG]Our sources have dropped by with a few extra -- and juicy -- pieces of content relating to the production of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, and we're ready to give you details about one of them!

The following description can be considered a pretty big SPOILER, regarding what may very well be the climax of the film. Advance at your own risk.

    <p style='text-align: center;']SPOILERS BEGIN HERE!</p>

This item will probably invoke a bit of déjà vu for a lot of you, drawing inspiration from the movie that started it all: A New Hope. It involves a model of a 'console . . . used on a Star Destroyer Bridge' that appears as though it could either be connected to the back of a wall or it could be viewed from two sides. The console shows three massive objects - the first of which is a large planet, the second of which is a smaller planet orbiting the planet in question, and the third of which is another celestial body approaching, with a targeting range.

I'm going to take an educated guess here and say that the approaching object is decidedly not naturally related to either of these planets, based on the fact that one, the planets are colored green while the approaching object is hollow with red horizontal lines, and two, the object's approach does not resemble an orbit, but a diagonal movement.

The item we were sent is not a concept art, it's real. We asked our friend Eli Hyder to do a sketch of it. Here it is:

So what I'm getting from this is that it looks a lot like the Battle of Yavin, and that it lines up a lot with the Mizzlewump leak and planet-weapon rumors. However, one aspect that separates the weapon from being a simple Death Star III is that its range seems to extend beyond the reach of the planet. It'll be interesting to see how the good guys deal with this threat - after all, what can you do to stop an approaching planet?

    [IMG] Death Star 1

I know that many of you think that this is just too similar to the display computer we've seen in A New Hope, and that it's very unlikely for Disney to use such thing again. But believe us, this item is as real as it gets. The question is how important will it be for the plot. It might be an essential part of the story but it's also possible that this will be used just like a cool background prop, or an easter egg maybe?

Whatever the case it appears that the super weapon rumor is very far from a fan fiction. Recently one of our sources contacted us and told us the production name of that weapon:
And as expected this would suggest that Leia probably is some kind of leader of the Rebellion - the Mon Mothma of the Sequel Trilogy.

A few days ago we told you about the 'Evil Castle' and now we hear about the 'Catapult'. Also the villain has a 'Cross Guard' lightsaber! And of course we have a Jedi KNIGHT. Sounds like we're going to see a lot of Excalibur-esque influence on The Force Awakens as we discussed it before (HERE).

Stay tuned for more interesting info next week when we will discuss another report we received, much different from what we've heard so far.

    Hmm...

Kind of nervous about the possible retread. But I suppose time will tell... I think we can be honest and say that, while the Death Stars provided the big threats in two of the OT films, they weren't really the focus for the majority of the time. So at least there's that.

Still, mostly hoping this turns out as just an Easter egg in the background.

Very cool fanny pack, but a touch impractical unless the screen can detach. Hell, if we can have detachable laptops, I think Star Wars can have the same. I’ve been trying to figure out what the hologram on it implies. The orb on the right is strangely shaped. Doesn’t look like a planet per se (moon?)… is that a giant ship/Death Star like object… and Rey is tracking the weapon’s movement because it is in fact going to destroy Tatooine/or Lothal or whatever planet she’s on. (Someone awhile ago speculated Finn is panicky because he knows The Empire is going to blow up the planet he’s on… does this line up with that…?)

P.S. Force is spelled wrong on your link.

That and the codename they list of "catapult" makes me wonder if it could be a "Death Star-like" superweapon but with a different sort of mechanism. Some sort of way to fling moons, planets, possibly even stars around?

I am just curious...why dont u puplish the picture it self?
I mean if the crew sees this sketch from the picture they could track down who was with the model...so puplishing the picture or a sketch of it makes no difference?....I guess. Also you could give the picture to a different person like a second middleman and let him/her puplish it...

Well that besides it looks very classic...but I dont really want that death star echoing...I mean we got 2, giff smth new. And even if it s a super crazy weapon so exotic and cool that it can't be called a death star remake...the basic idea is the same.

Hehe. Interestingly enough, the term 'proper dodgy' is equally baffling on this side of the pond.

Here's the regional breakdown for the term fanny pack and its variations acc. to wiki:

A fanny pack (US, Canada), waist wallet (Canada), belt pack (US), belt bag (Philippines), belly bag (US), chaos pouch (US), buffalo pouch (US), hip sack (US), phany pack (US), waist bag (or waistpack) (US), hip pack (UK), bum bag (UK, Australia, New Zealand), Snatchel (UK), Kangaroo and Koala (South America, Ireland), butt pack (US) or moon bag (South Africa), is a small fabric pouch usually secured with a zipper and worn by use of a strap around the hips or waist.

"BOW BEFORE MY CHAOS PACK", said wimpy Thanos fans everywhere.

Well, I'm pretty well convinced now that we're just looking at a reboot of ANH with all the latest PC crap that the world has to offer. You've lost me SW, I hope you can win me back. I loved you, I really did, I wanted to believe, but I just can't anymore....

"The Weapon is planet based and it’s called “Catapult” that’s the code name and Leia needs to destroy it. They do test fire it or demonstrate it early in film."

Didn't MSW talk about people outside of the cantina, depot, or whatever it is, looking up and seeing a big explosion over the sand planet? If the sand planet is at the beginning of the movie then this sequence seems to link together to me.
