    I think seeing some of those characters who we've always known were important, yet existed in the background, would be great. Biggs, Wedge, Porkins. They wouldn't need to be featured, but it would be a great homage just to see them mentioned.

    Yes my thinking too. I imagine a briefing scene like in Jedi where you could put a bunch of them in. It would be great to have some of the original actors have cameos in a scene like that in the background.

    I could see Leia and/or Bail making an appearance, though it would be rather small in my opinion. Other than that, perhaps Tarkin (Vader I'm rather iffy about, maybe a very tiny cameo).

    Tarkin is againt rebels in TV serie Rebels
    Bail Organa have C3po and R2, maybe Bail order the rogue squadron to steal the death star plans mission
    Leia a few seconds at the end
    Not Biggs, because he join the rebels in a new hope
    wedge, but I think this is a suicide mission

    You know just realized something. No wonder the Biggs scenes in the film didn't work. He's leaving the next morning for his ship with plans to defect as soon as a friend of a guy he knows tells him how to get in touch with the Rebellion.

    That same day R2 and 3PO have landed on Tatooine. They're captured later in the day and are sold to Owen the next morning. Same day Biggs leaves.

    That night R2 takes off. The next morning Luke goes after him, meets Ben, goes to Mos Eisley. At most another day takes place before they are on Yavin.

    So Biggs made it there what - a day earlier? Maybe there's extra time with the Droids in the sand crawler. But still.

    I'd really love for Tarkin to make at least a brief appearance. Wayne Pygram really has the look and I've no doubt he'd nail the delivery based on how he handled the character Scorpius on Farscape... just a shame he had no speaking part in his super-brief RotS cameo.

    This is completely from my memory, but I am sure George Lucas has said that "Antilles" is just a very common name in SW. I think his quote was something like "Antilles is the 'Smith' of the Star Wars universe." So no, I don't think Wedge is related to General Atilles (unless he has been canonized as such later on).

    I'd like to think Biggs was already in the Rebellion for at least a few major missions or so. I think we can see a TCW character that is either on the Empire's or Rebellion's side in the movie.

    On his own...he looks nothing like tarkin. He has a lot of prosthetics on. I think he looks super fake and wouldn't stand up to close of tarkin shots.

    I honestly think it depends on which angle we're seeing him at, and I believe there might be different takes with his makeup, with some looking better than others.

    I mean, this is pretty good. Considering how briefly and how far away in the shot he was, I don't think they put as much effort as they would've for extended close shots.

    In any case, as far as acting ability goes he's very good at playing a Tarkin-like character, and he's shown to be fine with handling heavy prosthetics for his roles.

    I just thought of this, having glimpsed a pic of Diego Luna in my peripheral vision.... I did wonder what if he plays Luke's BFF Biggs? Then I remembered the cut scenes in ANH and that Biggs wouldn't have joined the Rebellion at that point. Oh well, back to the drawing board......

    I really hope Artoo and Threepio are in Rogue One. Even if it's just a brief cameo. It just wouldn't feel like a Star Wars movie without them.

    Holy blast! In that picture he looks amazing!
    The shot in RotS doesn't do him justice. I can't believe they got anyone to look so much like Peter Cushing, since he's so distinctive. I only learned yesterday on this site that its the actor that played Scorpius on Farscape. He was great on that show.

    I hope they get him back and put him in Rogue One. Tarkin is one of my all-time favorite Star Wars characters.
    At least have that guy appear as him via hologram or poor communications and get the guy from the Rebels cartoon to dub the dialogue :)
