Aurra Sing would definitely be cool to see again along with of course Boba Fett! Tarkin is a must, I think the makeup works. Got to remember those pictures are in very clear lighting, the film would be shot in such a way where I think it'd work.

I reckon Tarkin will be below the bad guy in terms of standing within the Imperials. I reckon after the plans are stolen the aforementioned Imperial will be killed off by Vader and then Tarkin will take his mantle (therefore he'll only be in a few scenes)

I'd like to see Jimmy Smits back as Bail Organa, he was great in Sons of Anarchy and old enough to pull it off considering he's 60 now. It will make his loss in IV more poignant if he has a part in bringing about the destruction of the death star.

As for Leia, might be cool just to have a literal handover of the death star plans - as in the TFA trailer with the lightsaber- we only need to see a white dress and a hand taking the data from one of the Rogue Squadron characters to know it's her.

If Diego Luna is Biggs Darklighter, I will forever worship Disney. Not even lying. I like them enough, but IF HE IS BIGGS...! I totally agree about the Leia part.

Oh man I loved him as Scorpius in Farscape! You know It doesn't have to be a close up long shot. His cameo in Episode III was fantastic. Only 17 seconds short but you could definitely get that Tarkin "feel" from his performance. But the problem with prosthetics is that its too noticeable up close.

She would be the right age to play an older Mon Mothma with a little prosthetics

I seem to remember reading somewhere that Moff Mors from Lords of the Sith might make an appearance in Rogue One. She's not a film or tv character, but is an existing one (the unified canon gives some weight to this).

Well, as far as I know ... deleted scenes do not count as canon. So we may still get Biggs yet!

Anyone else get the thought when they saw this guy was cast that they might be refreshing and canonizing a certain underworld leader by the name of Talon Karrde? I'm not a big EU guy, but for some reason that's the first thing that popped into my head.

Nah, probably a new character (IMHO).

Probably is. But still. Mads' skills lend themselves to a crime lord or other eloquent yet creepy character (see his work on Hannibal or Casino Royale). So, even if he isn't Talon Kardde, I'd wager a guess at a similar type of character.

Although I guess I could see him being a creepy Imperial Office type as well.

We were talking about this in another thread. Strangely, starwars.com is treating the cut scenes with Biggs as if they actually happened. I don't know why they'd contradict themselves with canon, but apparently this is one deleted scene that DID happen.

Interesting ... well I suppose none of the deleted scenes really changes that much and fit in nicely. Except for those of us who want more Biggs :)

I'm not familiar enough with the dialogue. Would it be possible for Biggs to appear in both Rogue One and be on Tatooine at the beginning of ANH? Perhaps a bit of shore leave?

The scene has him headed off to defect to the Rebel Alliance I believe. I suppose if you consider the Rogue One crew just mercenaries and not officially part of the Rebellion, it could fit. It would still come across as a bit strange though in meshing.

Considering its just a deleted scene, there's not reason they couldn't just amend that as canon and just change it to legends after the release of Rogue One. most won't notice. I have a feeling its going to take the Story Group a while to get the hang of all this canon management since there is so much detail to dig through to make sure its all working together.

The thing about it is that *all* deleted scenes were relegated to Legends, so the Story Group has already spoken on this (from a certain point of view). Yet this one was specifically plucked from the pile and re-canonized.

Or, starwars.com is just embellishing Biggs' biography for the heck of it. That could be the case, too.

That's what I was thinking too, but @jmjawors was saying that starwars.com was treating it as canon. If anything, I'd guess deleted scenes are kind of in a "grey area", much like the Korean web comic ... per Jennifer Weddle.

When did that occur though? Its possible they had some plans for Biggs but that changed during the writing of Rogue One?

Not saying it did. Just saying, if they wanted to change some part of canon after the fact. This would be an easy one to do that to because after its made apocryphal to one would ever really see it again.

I don't know. I'm just trying to make sense of the discrepancy.

Here's his biography slideshow from the official site:

After checking out the website, I wouldn't take too much stock in it. Firstly, I can't see when it was published. Secondly, being a deleted scene and all ... as @Rebo alluded to, it'd be an easy retcon. Plus, if Luna isn't playing Biggs, it's pretty much a moot point.

I agree that the Story Group doesn't have an easy job on clarifying all this, but I do hope we get some kind of concrete answer regardless.
