False Rumours (Spoilers)

What about that night scene filmed at Pinewood studios involving Hayden Christensen? And that he was being trained by martial artists for it.

Leia being gassed to death by Snoke.


This is slightly off topic but what happened to the scene with Rey running full pelt at dusk with here lightsaber? It was in the trailer and I remember her training for it...

Some of these rumors could have actually been filmed but not included in the final cut, scenes might have been filmed to throw off audiences, and sometimes scenes from trailers are purposely not in the movie

Some of those early rumors were kind of hard to grasp at the time though. I will admit I fell for the one about Hayden Christensen....and I'm still not entirely sure he won't play Anakin again someday. However, its hard to TOTALLY discount every rumor. I remember when TFA rumors abounded when the script "leaked" several months prior to its release. It had stated Rey was being raised on a desert planet by a man who was half human half cyborg and that man would be revealed as someone that Clone Wars fans would know immediately. So fast forward to TFA, Rey is on a desert planet being raised by "nobody" and I kept looking for who was to be the half human cyborg from the Clone Wars era that I would recognize. This doesn't come to pass and I naturally chalked it up to rumor and innuendo. Flash ahead a year later, and Rogue One hits with Jyn Eyrso being raised by a half human half robotic Saw Guererra and everything made sense. But in the case of these TLJ rumors, I had a feeling most were just speculation....except that Anakin rumor. That one had a chance with me.

 

I think the Knights of Ren attack may have taken place in some cut of the film, maybe as a vision or test or something, judging by this:

I remember the rumor about the Knights of Ren arriving at Ahch-To together with Kylo, and Luke killing each one of them except Kylo.

I actually would have liked this one. I didn't care for her character and something like this would have been a nice twist.

 

Rian cut more than an hour out of the film. I fully believe it would have been an even better film if he could have assembled a more complete film. I don't get the complaints of bloat. To me, while I loved it, it felt incomplete and too short. It felt like an idea for two films, or one very long one, that was cut for brevity. They could have easily cut Maz, reduced the time spent on the slow speed car chase, cut Holdo and that silly Poe insurrection subplot and have Ackbar be the one to make the ultimate sacrifice, and re-insert all of the mythos and lore stuff that was seemingly filmed but removed from the final product. Mainly Luke and Rey on the island and the whole "Prime Jedi/the whills texts/what IS the force" storyline. I can't recall the "it's so much bigger" line from the trailer being in the film. Surely, that was part of this storyline that was shrunk. The cave section was definitely shrunk. The cut to Luke and Rey sitting there was pretty jarring. Also, Kylo arriving on Ach-to seemingly was filmed in some fashion or other, and that definitely would have been nice. Additionallyines about who Snoke is and where he came from/his motivations would have gone a loooooooooooooong way. For me, if they did all this, it would have been a close to perfect film. It would have given the important plots of the film, and important scenes, more gravitas and time to breathe, instead of rushing from plot point to plot point. But I still loved it.

 

Killing Ackbar like that pisses me off so much and him being the one to sacrifice himself would have resonated so much more with fans since we have known and loved him for 30+ years.

 

Woulda been nice. Ah well...

That, and there a rather pathetic guy on Reddit who said Rey was a Palpatine and Snoke was a force vampire.

Yeah I agree on ackbar. Was bummed about that. He still is slated to be the next character on my star wars tattoo sleeve, which currently has vader, Leia Boushh disguise, han & greedo, boba fett, Luke w yoda backpack, and cloud city

 

When they were in Ireland, they were definitely shooting much more than what we can see in the movie. But they don't usually release much from those deleted scenes so my expectations for finding out what was additionally filmed and then scrapped is pretty low.

However some of those rumors were ridiculous, I remember something about Phasma becoming bounty hunter and there was basically a lot of ***, anything you can imagine, a lot of fan fiction. I don't quite understand why do these people spread this *** in first place. Do they seek attention? Or do they have nothing better to do than troll & mislead? Never understood these...

 

And, btw that sea monster is in TLJ. When Rey follows Luke up the steps behind her in the ocean the sea monsters comes up and goes back into the water.

 

I haven't visited MSW in months. I like what they used to do, but now it's all amateurish podcasts. Not my bag.
