    GUUUUUYS!

WOOOOOOWWWWWEEEEEE!!!! I have just left from my second viewing of Rogue One and, I don't normally like to comment on movies (especially SW) until I have seen it twice, because first time through it could be 2 hours of Vader getting ready for his day and I would be like "YEP 10/10 WOULD WATCH AGAIN BRAVO"

So, now I have had time to settle down and really watch the movie, it's still amazing, and honestly there where some things I was 50/50 on, but nothing I was annoyed about or anything like that, but I had a thought on one thing I would have changed.... TURN BACK NOW IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE PLZ!.....

The way our Rogue One crew died.
Sure unless you where apart of the like 1% of Star Wars fans who thought they where the Knights of Ren, chances are you gathered they would all die, now, don't get me wrong the way they died was heroic as all fudge, but I think it could have been more epic, and personal! This how I would have LOVED to see these guys go out.

K-2SO - Was awesome, best death, didn't need to change!

BODHI - Live by the shuttle, die by the shuttle! You know what I mean? I think he should have had a moment where like a bunch of Rebels where surrounded or in trouble and in a last moment he fires up his shuttle, blasting it through the side of an AT AT or something. Random grenade seemed, a bit sad :(

CHIRRUT - Man, this Monk cracked me up! He's clearly force senstive, there is no way he could do what he did without the force. That's obvious, now he should have died in battle, fighting, muttering the force is with me, maybe flicked the switch and in a desperate effort stood holding his ground, got injured and actually used the force, maybe threw a storm trooper and he then looks at his hand having never done it before, he is then hit with that final blast!

BAZE - I actually liked how he died, his friend dies and he goes Rambo on the last Death Troopers, was cool, I would have liked to see him tank a ton more damange, just take it all, just goes complete beast mode. But I am happy with his death!

CASSIAN - I really enjoyed his charcter by the end and he really proved himself to be the ideal Rebel. I would have liked to see him die saving Jyn, so like when old mate Orson shows up. He runs and tackled him and fought while Jyn transmitted the plans! It would end with Orson and Cassian going over the side, or Cassian being shot and Orson going over the side.

JYN - As you can tell I didn't enjoy the hug in the sun scene, was a bit too corny for me, I would have loved to see her, maybe walk to the beach, facing the explosion, looking at the kyber crystal, maybe and her last words could be "Trust in the force", as it cuts to the planet scene and the explosion crossing the surface.

Again, this is just a fun thought I had, still loved their characters and their deaths.

What about you? Anything in the movie you would have changed? Or just loved it?

Well, call me corny but I liked that hug in the sun. LOL.

At one point I thought they would die like the Ryloth rebels (Isval and Co.) facing Vader and being killed merciless by the Dark Lord of the Sith). But they died in the action!

LEGIT! I thought that through the movie, but I could see it was going to be Orson vs Erso's haha.
But that end scene with Vader just crippling the Rebels, I was like a little kid, just "MOTHER OF GOD THIS IS HAPPENING YAAAAAAAS" haha.
110% though, I could watch Vader do his thang all day!

No offense, but I think the majority of Star Wars Fans disappoint themselves when the film doesn't play out the way they dreamt it. I always go in with an open mind. Its Lucas' story not mine, no matter how much I spend on merch... Anywho, I loved the way Vader looked at the Blockade Runner speed away. It makes Princess Leia's statements irrelevant. BOY can't wait to see this again...

    Exactly!

For example, I would have loved if they have given us a glimpse of Leia leaving Alderaan in the Tantive IV to never come back again, but we didn't have that and I completely understand since this was a stand-alone story and not another Episode.

More Leia would have been amazing. I love her confident personality in ANH. She's not afraid of Vader or Tarkin.

I agree. But geez.. she and Vader happen to be Skywalkers and I understand if they want to keep the focus on the main story.

I give them a lot of credit for killing the entire team. When I heard about the reshoots I initially panicked and thought Bob Iger and/or Kathleen Kennedy had a mini stroke and the reshoots were designed to keep characters alive.

It took a lot of balls to tell this story the way they did. Credit where credit is due.

I didn't feel everybody needed an epic death scene. So I thought they all worked pretty well. Sometimes people just die, it doesn't always need to be in a blaze of glory. However, part of me liked the hug scene, but also another part of me wished Cassian would have fallen to his death when he was shot by Krennic. It would have avoided the cliche save scene. Which worked but its been done so much so part of me wishes it wasn't there.

Gotta admit I got choked up when Chirrut died and kinda felt warm inside when Jyn and Cassin hugged right b4 the end.

Oh no doubt, if I had it my way this movie would have been a 2 hour feature of Vader, hence why I am not in charge! I have managed a theory site for years, and these subjects are more fun for those who have the thought of something already in mind. Just cause that's what they serve you, doesn't mean you have to love it unconditionally.

In saying that I love they all died (sounds bad) haha, but I do, we hear the term it's a "Suicide Mission" and our heroes return safe and sound. Here they truly went on a suicide mission and didn't make it home. That's f'ing amazing and brave from a new director in a new SW world! I am more pointing out these guys are special and having that blaze of glory deaths, would not have hurt, they're dying anyway haha. Still very happy with the outcome.

Chirruts death did choke me up. I really liked his contribution to the story.

Yeah it got me bad seeing them all perish but it had to happen, Chirrut's death got me bad because of his full belief in the force.

I really disliked that all died, I normally never watch such movies, because they are a downer for me. I hoped until the end that at least 1 survives. :(

That death star blast would have surely wiped them out completely, they had to die because they had fulfilled their purpose & their story would go on as inspiration to future sign ups.

I know, but I simply have a problem with these kind of movies and try to avoid them when I know everyone dies. :(

Loved the movie, will say was not surprised they all died, I figured they would all die when they announced the movie. The movie set up one thing very well. Leia witnesses the sacrifice that the soldiers on the ground gave. To me it solidifies part of her never die attitude. Jyn sets the tone for the rebel alliance and they live to the words from Jyns mother, trust in the force. Jyn has no idea what will happen, but the force does.

An FYI that might be more relevant in the Rebels forum, but the Ghost, the small ship from rebels that was seen in one of the trailers at the battle, is also seen jumping to light speed away. Now we don't know whose piloting the Ghost, but it would seem at least someone from our Rebel crew survives to see the OT. Whether this is significant in VIII we don't know.

I know what you mean, I always hoped some would survive to appear in future spin-offs but they felt this was one made their mark in the galaxy by their sacrifice. I can see why the world war two feel was brought into this were many movies saw most of the characters were killed off at the missions success.

    Anybody ever play Halo: Reach?
I think I can finally confirm my theory that this fantastic movie is basically the Star Wars universe's Reach, in that we see each character die one by one, get the important package off planet, and end the film by seeing the ship from the very beginning of the first movie/game.

    Anyway, thoughts on deaths:
K2- Loved this guy more than I thought I would, and he got one of the best deaths in the film, taking several hits to go down and taking a ton of stormtroopers with him

Bodhi- I agree with Lord Revanous, Bodhi getting killed by a random grenade seemed a little off, but I guess that's war- this film wasn't meant to glorify violence.

Chirrut- I remember him walking across the battlefield without getting hit by blaster fire, but I somehow missed his death. Like, I just remember Baze running up to his body at some point, and I hadn't even seen him get hit. Maybe I blinked for a little too long or something, but I guess I can't really speak on his death right now.

Baze- Again, agreed with Revanous. I like how he took down some death troopers, but I wish he'd had even more to slaughter. Also, a grenade again? Come on! :p

Cassian/Jyn- I honestly like what they did with these characters the more I think about it. Of course they're set up to be lovers- Cassian the rugged and scoundrely Rebel agent and Jyn the cheeky and beautiful rogue.- and in the end there are hints that there are romantic feelings between them, but nothing really comes of it. They were ill-fated lovers, and through circumstances outside of their own control they managed to completely subvert the trope too common in Hollywood. I thought it was clever. Bonus points for the Bikini Atoll-style death.

Krennic- I really wanted to see Vader choke this guy out, but seeing Tarkin blast his former rival off the face of the galaxy may have actually been more satisfying. Seeing the Death Star just appear over the horizon- that's terrifying!

Yeah great post man, couldn't agree more, Reach struck me so hard in the feels and to a degree this was the same. Like K2SO and Chirruts deaths got me on the feels train , but it didn't arrive at the station! I do like the connection with Cassian and Jyn at the end, the unsaid romance blossoming, was nice. But still, I would have liked that love cut down by a glowing red lightsaber! BAM! HA! GOT EM!

    Cute as.
I kinda agree, the only one I think that could have survived would have been Bohdi or Baze. But honestly, as I said before they ran the real suicide mission.

He was the real MVP!!!! Not mention he destroy like a whole legion of stormtroopers!!
