    Personally really like ROTS, darker tone which I enjoy a lot

    My immediate thought after hearing that title for the first time was: “sounds like what you’d call someone's silent fart in a car full of people.” I'm sure that's just me though.

    I'm sure I heard at one point a rumoured title for Episode I was Balance of the Force, and obviously in the development process it was called The Beginning.
    I always assumed Episode II would just be called The Clone Wars.
    Episode III I specifically remembering hearing and was sure it was going to be Rise of the Empire.
    Episode VI was of course originally Revenge of the Jedi, and Episode VII was revealed to have been Shadow of the Empire early on.

    Empire, for me.

    Yeah, I remember as a kid (I was probably about 7, maybe 8) I honestly didn't care at all about The Phantom Menace's title- I was just excited about that "Star Wars" part in the front of it. In fact, I distinctly remembering during school (like, 2nd or 3rd grade) and wondering why the movie was even called that. Granted, my vocabulary wasn't great then, but my association with a "phantom" was also more of a supernatural spooky kind of thing. It wasn't until far later until I realized that this wasn't a loose reference to Maul's hellish looks, but to Palpatine's secret meddling.

    Or is it a reference to Anakin and his ill-defined ‘dangerousness’? . . . . . Nah, probably Palpatine. Although, if ANH refers to Luke and TFA refers to Rey, then maybe, just maybe . . . no, probably not :D
