What happened to you? Are you safe? Are you alright?

 

I was a big fan of Talon Kaarde. More of a Lando-level character, mind you, but I love the way he was written. (Of course, I'm a fan of anything Zahn writes, so there's that!)

 

I haven't read a ton of Legends, so most of the characters I'd know are from video games, but here's my list:

Xixor- He has some problematic aspects now that I'd prefer to be amended if he'd return to canon, but he played off Vader in such an interesting way that we don't have in the current canon as far as I know (Cylo might be the closest?).

Bastila Shan- Revan gets the most attention, but I always thought Bastila is more interesting. Her fall to the dark side was more surprising to me than the Revan reveal when I first played. Probably didn't hurt that I had a huge crush on her as a kid.

Darth Nihiuls- Another underrated villain from the KOTOR series, in my opinion (or perhaps rather underutilized). Nihilus is the product of a mastery in character design (perhaps moreso than Darth Maul) and his abilities are horrifying and unique- not to mention that haunting voice. No other sith feels even remotely like Nihilus in the content I've consumed with Star Wars- he's more eldritch abomination than evil villain.

Hohass Ekwesh and Mount Sorrow- Bring these to canon, you cowards!

Darth Revan, Meetra Surik, Kyle Katarn, Delta Squad, Darth Traya, Mara Jade, Admiral Thrawn, Darth Bane, HK-47, Jolee Bindo, Bastilla Shan, Canderous Ordo, the Solo Twins, Corran Horn, Darth Plagueis, Wedge Antilles, I-5YQ, Gilad Pellaeon, Freedom Nadd, Ulic-Qel Droma.

 

I'm a huge fan of Cade Skywalker, Darth Krayt and Darth Talon. I loved the whole Legacy storyline and I wish that they'd taken it to be the direction of the new films. It was brilliant and would have been an outstanding sequel series to the existing canon, and completely outclasses the existing sequel films for storywriting and character creation. Unfortunately, however, we got Disney... so it is what it is.
