Favorite lightsaber battle

I like the Kylo Ren vs Finn duel the most. I love the way Kylo Ren toys with Finn throughout majority of the duel until Finn gets a hit in, and then he just ends it. And also, the way Kylo Ren was beating his wound during the fight was just straight savage.

 

rey and kylo definitely, but let's not forget the iconic savage and asajj ventress vs dooku duel. something to remember

 

too true...there really is nothing better than seeing people duel the sudoko master

 

TPM end battle was my favorite but I LOVED the imagery of ROTS Anakin Skywalker bs. Obi-Wan Kenobi .

 

The fight between Kylo and Rey was my favourite, I got chills when the sabre flew past Kylo into Rey's hand.

 

Well all duels in TFA were more like dogfights, because both Rey and Finn were not skilled.

Unexpectedly the best duel in the series comes in the worst movie, TPM. I absolutely loved the Maul vs Obi and Qui Gon final battle. The Dooku duels from AOTC were trash, the one in ROTS is better. The Mace vs Sidius battle was nice but I still can't believe how lame the other Jedi Masters were presented in the duel, not being able to defend even one blow. And as far as I can remember Kit Fisto was a badass in the Clone Wars. Come on people they are Jedi MASTERS, they could last a bit longer... Then the Yoda vs Sidius one could be something but it was mostly a missed opportunity to do something great. Obi Wan vs Anakin was also good, though unnecessarily too choreographical. From the OT, Ben vs Vader felt old and slow, Vader vs Luke in ESB is way better, but the best is the one from ROTJ, even though in the last part Luke chasing butterflies rather than fighting and Vader deciding to kneel without being injured were strange directional decisions.

 

I really liked the one with Rey and Kylo Ren for how raw and unchoreographed it was. It didn't feel like it was a spectacle made to look "cool", but rather gave a sense of the characters as it was happening.

 

I liked Finn vs Kylo Ren too.

 

Rey vs Kylo was the best, especially the last part.

The Rey vs Kylo Ren fight was my favorite.

 

In TFA : Kylo vs Finn - something about watching the guy/gal who is supposed to be a nobody, stand up defiantly against corrupted power
In all the movies in the franchise : Obi Wan vs. Anakin - I know some people felt it was too stylistic, but that's why I appreciated it, you saw what great swordsmanship looked like
In video games : Darth Vindican & Malgus vs. Darach and Satele Shan - because it's like all 4 are battling each other at the same time
In Animated Series : Sidious vs. Savage Oppress and Darth Maul - just because it showed how skilled Sidious really was as opposed to the onscreen battle he had in RoTS which really left a lot to be desired

An honorable mention might be any of the Inquisitor battles because of the light saber they use and how unique it is

 

My vote goes to Rey vs Kylo,watch it again if you want.

the more i watch the final fight, the more i love it. it's just beastly and messy and emotional. reminds me of when Luke goes after Vader in ROTJ and is just wailing on him. finesse and skill don't necessarily make a great fight.

and yeah, with Finn, Kylo Ren doesn't seem to be taking it seriously until Finn catches him. then he's like: "enough of this crap".

and with Rey, you can see his rage and confusion, and the moment he just gives up.

beautifully rendered character moments, all.

 

The rage and anger on Rey's face is also very revealing in that final battle. Kylo wanted to spare Rey. Rey wanted to eliminate her enemy. Great inversion!

lol too bad Disney removed it. Well I'll be seeing it again next Tuesday.

 

For TFA it's Rey vs Kylo.....but my all time favorite is Darth Siddious vs Darth Maul & Savage Opress!!!

 

Rey vs. Kylo for TFA. It wasn't so much the choreography of the battle as it was the "scene" in general. Overall, a close second would be Qui Gon and Darth Maul.
