Obi-Wan's lightsaber looks a lot more weathered by the time we see it again in ANH. There's just something about the design I really like.

I personally like Count Dooku's lightsaber. It's different and a design that just screams Sith.

I always liked the simplicity of Qui-Gon's saber. Utilitarian with a touch of class. :)

I chose Vader's, but I actually also really like Anakin's from AotC. They're basically the same design, but there are subtle differences. Mainly Vader's is darker and has a black tip instead of chrome. I like how it sort of shows Anakin is still within Vader deep down.

My Favourite two are Obi-Wan's from ROTS/ANH and Luke's green lightsaber.

I'm sure that the hilt for Luke's green saber for ROTJ was originally the Obi-Wan hilt prop, just altered for ROTJ.

I'd just like to bring some attention to two relatively underrated hilts that I haven't seen get any love in the thread yet: Obi-Wan's from the first half of the prequel trilogy, and Palpatine's electrum lightsaber.

The pommel is by far my favorite thing on this design, and the emitter shape and pattern tie the whole thing together nicely.

On the other hand, I just love the use of electrum here and how it breaks up the monotony of colors in a unique way, as well as the overall alien aesthetic of the hilt. Say what you will about the prequels, but the art direction was definitely bringing in their A-Game.

I'll always be drawn to the more different styles. Kylo's or Maul's will always standout the most to me

I've never read any articles on this, so I don't know if it was an intentional design, just a coincidence during production, or just my imagination, but to me some of the lightsabers sort of tell a story.

For instance, when Obi-Wan was a Padawan, his lightsaber slightly resembles Qui-Gon in a few aspects. He eventually makes his own more original design later.

Vader's lightsaber resembles his original one that was passed down to Luke, only it has a lot more black coverings that remind me of the suit he has to wear.

Luke eventually makes his own saber, and I find it interesting that his new design looks a lot more like Obi-Wan's than it does the one he inherited from his father.

All of this could just be the result of what parts the production team had available to build the hilts, but a lot of thought went into these movies It wouldn't surprise me if they had some thoughts about it all.

Asajj Ventress has curved hilts that resemble Count Dooku's lightsaber, probably because of the style of fighting she was trained in. That seems naturally intentional.

I really love lightsabers. Can't wait to get into Galaxy's Edge and make my own.

Looks like Kylo's saber is leading the poll right now. The Force FX Elite version is probably the best option currently available. This is a pretty good review that demonstrates some of the cool new light effects.

I am so glad fo have found this thread! My favorite Lightsaber hilt is called the Praetor, and was used by Anakin/Vader:

My new favorite is Kylo Ren’s Crossguard Ligjtsaber:

I am part of HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts), I practice Spada de Longa (Long Sword) and Spada de Filio (Side Sword, Epee+Sabre, Cut and Thrust). So I was elated Lucasfilm made a lightsaber based on the European Sword.

Count Dooku's was great because it was so distinct.

I voted Dooku but I'm on the fence between his and Palpatine. Both are classy and unique. If Palpatine's was an option I might have voted Palpatine.
