    My all time favorite movie is Jurassic Park.
    After that it causes me way too much stress to list them in fear of forgetting something

    really not in order:

    • The Thin Red Line
    • Andrei Rublev
    • The Dark Knight Trilogy (it's all one film; fight me)
    • Star Wars OT (same as above)
    • Star Wars "Disney Era" (so far; subject to Episode IX)
    • Jesus of Nazareth (Zefferelli)
    • The Shawshank Redemption
    • Dead Man (Jarmusch)
    • Sense & Sensibility (Ang Lee)
    • Overboard (don't judge me; it makes me laugh every time)

    also rans:

    Sunrise (Murnau)
    Patterson
    Restoration
    Without A Clue
    The English Patient
    The New World (Malick)
    The Tree of Life (same)
    Thor Ragnarok
    Quigley Down Under
    Dangerous Liaisons
    Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

    every time i try to rank my favorite movies, there are quite a few constants for the top five-ish.
    then it devolves in to the chaos of "what do i feel like watching right now?"
    and then i just have to stop listing after a while because i keep remembering things.

    my pattern seems to be epic adventure/drama/period films, intimate character explorations, and quirky-to-downright-stupid humor. : D

    [IMG]

    i was laid off and living on $11 a week eating pasta, homemade pesto, and mushrooms.
    twice a month i would cut my budget to $9 so i could rent a scratchy and badly translated copy of Andrei Rublev from the video store.

    when i finally got a job again, the Criterion collection edition was the first thing i purchased.

    sorry for the long post. watching movies of resignation, resilience, and redemption has literally saved me throughout my life. :' D

    I remember of watching Andrey Rublev more than 10 years ago but I found it too slow at the time, I must give another chance

    I enjoyed most this ones from Tarkovsky:

    - The Mirror;
    - Ivan's Childhood;
    - Solaris;
    - Stalker

    i think The Mirror are Nostalghia vie for my second favorite from Tarkovsky.
    i want to love The Sacrifice too, but it definitely drags for me.
    could never get into Solaris, though i know so many people love it. XD
    Andre Rublev is definitely a slow, long film with a lot going on between lengthy meditations, but man i find it hypnotic.

    Wow. Okay I admit, I missed your post and now I'm glad I did! Sheesh, I thought I was being a tad bit anal. I'm not sure I could rank them 1-99. And there are, of course, films I love which I left out. Good job dude, this is one hell of a list.

    Interesting. I have my account on IMDB since 2003. More than 2.500 movies and series are on my list there. But this site that you posted is more complete, you can separete the movies by gender. I 'll give it a try. Thanks.
