Favorite Scene from the Original Star Wars Trilogy

Very strong contenders Here, my personnal choices.......

From ANH:

- Jawas capturing the Droids
- Greedo & Han Solo mexican stand off (and all the CANTINA weird feeling)
- Darth Vader striking Obi-Wan Kenobi
- Vader force shoking the imperial officer
- The Rebels run on the Death Star trench against Ties and Vader (best sequence of the movie, if not from the entire trilogy)

From ESB:

- Hoth At-AT battle (Luke destroying AtAt is amazing)
- Luke meeting Yoda in Dagobah
- Han Solo "I Know" moment in Bespin
- Luke vs Vader in Bespin and "I'm Your Father" revelation (one of the greatest scenes in movie history)

From ROTJ:

- Jabba barge battle over the Saarlac
- Speeder Bikes chase in Endor
- Death Star II Throne Room final stand off with Luke, Vader and the Emperor

My favorite sequence must be the Emperor final battle scene with Luke and Vader.

 

When Yoda uses the force to get Luke's ship out of the swamp in ESB. I get goosebumps EVERY time!!

 

All the "Yoda Meeting Luke in Dagobaht" scene is very well conceived.

 

Bespin duel and reveal.

From that same sequence there is lots of good scenes.

Another favorite scene of mine is when that fat guy starts crying when alike Skywalker kills his pet .

Bwahahahahahahaha hilarious. And yes, the fat ugly half-naked guy crying like a baby when his Rancor pet is killed by Luke, is funny.

As a kid, this scene made me weep. As an adult, I still get teary eyed. By and large one of the most emotional scenes in the entire trilogy, both beautifully written and acted.

Agree. And the music is perfect, since they play the notes of the "Imperial March" on a slower tempo, which sounds sad yet beautiful.

Damn Kylo Ren. Why nobody showed him a holo of this? Lol.

ANH: The Battle of Yavin. Fantastic dogfight scene followed by the trench run. Everything was top notch in this scene- the editing, the model work, the music- still thrilling to this day. If I haven't seen it a thousand times, I'd probably jump up and scream when Han returns to clear the way for Luke to drop those proton torpedoes down the exhaust port right into Tarkin's smug lap.

Empire: I'm really torn between the Luke/Vader lightsaber battle and Han being put into carbon freeze. I'll go with Han being frozen mainly because of the atmosphere, the music, and possibly the best job of acting I've seen from Harrison Ford. Not just the famous ad-lib, but that look he gives Leia as he's being dropped down into the chamber. With those eyes and that half smile he has the look of someone who is trying to assure Leia that everything will be fine but is also really scared and unsure of what is going to happen to him.

Jedi: The battle over the Sarlacc pit. Quite possibly the best single fight sequence/action scene that didn't involve a dogfight. I like big action scenes that have a lot of different things happening to different characters at the same time. You have luke kicking ass with the lightsaber, Han and Chewie trying to rescue Lando, Leia killing Jabba, it was intense.

 

so hard to pick just one!

ANH: the whole prison break (hence my username), from the time they put on the stormtrooper outfits, escaping the trash compactor in sector 3263827, and, if i can cheat, including their escape on the Falcon.

ESB: a tie between pretty much everything on Hoth (snow!) & Han being put into carbonite.

ROTJ: like @TK-1204 @PrincessLeiaCB3 & @FallenAngel i cried when Darth Vader died. straight up cried.

 

Well, my turn:

ANH: The Cantina scene where Han meets Obi-Wan and Luke, followed by the whole sequence in the Death Star (Han and Luke as Stormtrooper to the arrival to Yavin).

ESB: The whole movie. Lol. The MF kiss, and Han being frozen in carbonite. Those two scenes had more romance and feeling that the whole romantic scenes in AOTC between Anakin and Padme lol.

ROTJ: The Sarlacc fight. Loved how all together saved the day. That one and the ending, where Anakin is redeemed - with the notes of "Imperial March" on slower tempo with a sad sound - as well as the Victory Celebration (with the new music from the Special Editions).

 

Some of my most favorite scenes from Episodes IV, V, and VI are...

• IV: Obi-Wan Kenobi training Luke in the ways of the Force aboard the Millennium Falcon
• V: Yoda training Luke in the ways of the Force on Dagobah
• VI: Luke's final scene with the Emperor: "I'll never turn to the Dark Side. You've failed, your highness. I am a Jedi, like my father before me."

...these, of course, on top of so many more memorable and favorite moments in this amazing saga.
