Favorite Scene in The Force Awakens

Rey's introduction to the big screen.

 

Kylo vs Finn. This new style of lightsaber combat made a huge impact on me. The ferocity, the sounds. When I saw it for the first time, lightsabers felt more dangerous and powerful than ever. I still don't rewatch that scene (only when I watch the whole movie) because I don't want to get bored of it.

 

"whiney"? I can't relate to this comment at all. I think he talks like a real smooth operator in that scene and it totally drew me in.

 

I really never got the "whiney" complaint of Ren in TFA. He's almost always calm and collected when he speaks, and you see two real outbursts of rage. Do people consider those outbursts as whining?

I mean, we see whiney. Luke in ANH, definitely, but Kylo always seemed threatening and angry to me even before TLJ.

 

Oh my goodness, yes. All of the emo jokes, ok, they can be funny, but really what we have here is a very complex and interesting character, not a "whiney" one. I find him intimidating.

 

My top 3 would favourite scenes would be... in no particular order:

- Millennium Falcon on Jakku
- Han takes chewie’s bow caster and tries it
- Han and Leia reuinite

 

There are so many scenes I love that I will brainstorm some and think which one my favourite for today might be

The Millennium Falcon on Jakku is my favourite ship scene in all of Star Wars. Just amazing. The sound and the visuals makes me 'feel' the Falcon, and the chemistry between Rey and Finn - wow!

Han & Chewie on Starkiller Base - so great to see that partnership with lighthearted arguments, absolute trust in one another and Chewie's pain

Rey's introduction - simply the best in all of Star Wars, in my opinion

Lightsaber duel - astonishing visuals and choreography (although I always wonder why Kylo doesn't use his force freeze power)

The flight to Takodana - hyperspace visuals, approach, dialogue between Rey and Han

Hmmm, I really have to watch it again. For the 40th time, I guess

 

Enjoyed BB8 sences.

 

On board the Falcon:

Rey says to Han your Han Solo!

Finn asked Chewie: He was the Resistance General?

Chewie barks I don't know.

Han reads the map? (magical) The Jedi, the Force... all of it.

Rey has a dream/vision of doom after touching the lightsaber.

Klyo kidnaps Rey on Takodana. Carrying her on board his ship like a Dark Space Count.

Rey reads Kylo's mind!

Rey escapes SKB using the mind trick she just learned.

Chewie says it was Finn's idea to rescue her. Rey and Finn unite, and hug(sweet).

Lightsaber fight, Rey and Kylo are separated by an earthquake. Rey looks on at the defeated Kylo with lightsaber ignited.

Rey and Chewie in the Falcon's cockpit. Rey smiles at Chewie. I miss Han already...

 

I'd probably have to rewatch it again just to be sure but I love this scene and how the music cues up as they run towards the Millennium Falcon...


Also I love the scenes on Takodana. The Takodana stuff is my favorite sequence of the film. The planet is so beautiful, and it kind of reminds me of Naboo.

I love this little chat between Rey and Han. I think Han sees a little bit of himself in Rey, as he was once a youngster who believed he could handle whatever the galaxy through at him.

Takodana is just a great part of the film. Rey discovers the legendary lightsaber that Anakin and Luke once wielded. The screams on Takodana as people watch Hosnian system get blown up. The badass arrival of the First Order. The battle as stormtroopers raid the place. The fight between "TR-8R" and Finn, Kylo kidnapping Rey, Han Solo showing he can still shoot a blaster as good as ever. And at the end of the chaos, we see this for the last time...
