Han Solo. No contest. Unless of course the subject of Mara Jade comes up, then it's her.

Han Solo was the biggest influence to my formative years, mostly due to A.C. Crispin's books. My headcanon treats the events surrounding him in TFA like the gristle after eating a steak. But then, I'm just a crotchety old '90's kid. ;) As far as I'm concerned, Han is still flying around the galaxy having never lost the Falcon or been killed by anyone.
I've actually already seen (read about) Han Solo and Boba Fett fighting to a stalemate. But if that ever happened in something other than a book, I'd be interested.
    Han.jpg

Mara Jade is a ginger Jedi. That's really all you need to know to understand how incredibly awesome she is. More specifically, she was the Emperor's Hand who had been tasked with killing Luke Skywalker, and then she married him instead. If that's not compelling character development I don't know what is. :D
I would love to see Mara Jade fight and kill Kylo Ren, poetic justice.

He only becomes Darth Vader in the climax of ROTS,and NOTHING about his character afterwards is changed, also I'd like to know why Luke is so high on your list,he barely has a personality.

    I think we're twins.

    Doesn't understand human behavior? Check.

Does his best to help but everybody thinks he's doing more harm than good? Check.
    Takes things too literally? Check.
Nobody ever listens to him? Check.
Even his friends think he's annoying? Check.
Tall, handsome, always a gentleman, even gold plated, but ladies think the short, fat sidekick is the hero? Check.
Not sure what planet he's on? Check.

I feel ya, Threepio. We seem to be made to suffer. It's our lot in life.

    My favorite characters are:
    1. Chewbacca (loved him since I was a kid - he's so lovable yet might still rip your arm out of its socket)
    2. Obi-Wan Kenobi (I love both Ewan and Alec in the role plus Clone Wars)
    3. Kylo Ren (Super interesting and complex individual and his look is awesome!)
    4. Luke Skywalker (I am a Jedi like my father before me)

Sorry for the late response! For me, Vader was irrevocably damaged (as a character) by the PT. Lucas wanted me to buy that Vader was this wonder child who was conceived by the Force (i.e. the messiah-myth, does not fit Star Wars at all IMO), who built 3P0 (who is clearly meant to be a manufactured series model), who raced silly pods and who was played by Jake Lloyd (bad) and Hayden C. (ugly), whom Obi-Wan didn't want to train (he was told to do it by Qui), who turned to the Dark Side because he had bad dreams, who was not much of a cunning warrior, or a good friend to Obi-Wan, one scene in an elevator and some banter in EP III is not good enough...
Lucas wanted me to buy that Vader didn't hunt down and destroy the Jedi after all, nope, the Force just happened to stop working for them at the moment The Clones turned on them... Shroud of the Dark Side my exit; the Jedi use the Force seemingly without diminishing throughout the PT...But now I am complaining about the atrocious writing, not why Vader is ruined..
...So, the DARTH VADER I see in the OT, whom I have known for three decades as the perfect movie villain,
Lucas wants me to accept that this villain, beloved villain of the CLASSIC FANTASY TYPE, now is a Maclunkey CHILD MURDERER and while that IS evil it is NOT the kind of evil that matches Vader.
This is LORD OF THE RINGS in space, not whatever.
Vader the original character is utterly annihilated by the PT, unless you completely disregard the PT as official. Which I do, for this and 3.321 other reasons.

    As for Luke:
    1) He is not in the PT enough to get ruined by its endless flaws
    2) He is the CLASSIC hero, from zero to hero (lol my autocorrect suggested from zero to herpes ANYWAY)
    3) Mark Hammill plays the role perfectly, his performance in ESB is so underrated I could vet
    4) I am excited about the character's future in VIII
    5) He becomes a Jedi, but flirts with the Dark Side

On a serious note though I totally adore Finn!
Just the idea of a stormtrooper leaving the Empire/first order is very intriguing and I love his overall personality, he's very caring and brave and I love love love John Boyega since I saw him in attack the block!!
I hope finn's getting a kickass storyline in VIII together with KMT's charachter (who I also already adore tbh)

Cassian is also a one of my favorites sad we wont get more of him in fututre films, the same with chirrut:(

Rey, Luke, and Ahsoka are my choices.

Rey: There's been characters whom I've admired and enjoyed seeing them grow but never have I felt these feelings as well as seen myself within a character so much before her. She's very relatable with her personality and our desires. We're both strong, loyal to those we care about, independent, smart, forgiving, bit of a loner, and have a longing for belonging. There's something truly surreal and special with having a character like her.

Luke: He's one of the characters I admired and enjoyed seeing them grow. Luke was always the gateway into Star Wars for me when I was younger. I enjoy his story arc from idealistic farm boy to Jedi Master. I admire his clear look at what's right and wrong and how he helped his father redeem himself to become his true self again. His mere seconds in The Force Awakens weren't nearly enough but the excitement I felt seeing him again was truly magical. I look forward to seeing where his and Rey's journey leads and how it's intertwined.

Ahsoka: Snips is an admirable character as well. I can relate to her too in her actions and personality. Like her, I walked away from everything I was comfortable and familiar with for the great unknown. I still have a long ways to go but I think she's helped me to see it's okay and there's strength in leaving everything behind and doing what's best for you. Her dynamic relationship with Anakin is always top notch as well. There's many great things about her character and I'm really enjoying learning more about what happened to her post leaving the Jedi Order in her novel.

Honorable Mentions: Leia, Padme (Particularly in The Phantom Menace), Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, Kylo Ren, Darth Maul, and Darth Plagueis.

in order of the movies--not in order of actual preference:

    1. ANH: Darth Vader
    2. ESB: Han Solo
    3. ROTJ: Admiral Ackbar
    4. TFA: Kylo Ren Ben
    5. R1: Bohdi Rook

i love most of the OT/ST/R1 characters. i just listed the ones i feel a particular affection for.
if forced to choose from the PT/TCW i'd choose Obi-Wan.
    from Rebels? probably Sabine.

also, in case it's not obvious, i have a particular love for First Order Stormtroopers (okay, i know it's not a "character" but whatever).
the redesign on the stormtrooper armor from the OT is the best thing since sliced bread.

other more obscure characters/things i love: dewbacks, the Emperor's Royal Guards, Moroff, and Captain Ithano.

This was a tough one for me because I don't usually rank my favorite characters in a series. Anyway, I put together my top 10:

    1.) Luke Skywalker
2.) Rey (Skywalker? Solo? Kenobi? Skywalker/Kenobi?)
3.) Darth Vader / Anakin Skywalker
    4.) Obi-Wan Kenobi
    5.) Han Solo
    6.) Princess Leia
    7.) Finn
    8.) Kylo Ren
    9.) Darth Maul
    10.) Qui-Gon Jinn

    Original Trilogy

Luke Skywalker, formerly of Tatooine, now - who knows? He was my entry into the Saga, I was a whiny kid as he was in the beginning and I was growing up with him. I am still trying to become the Jedi. :D

    e3f08127fe8f2f51b92ef206f1b9266181f8f9fe_hq.gif

I'd like him to b$tchslap Kylo Ren.

    Prequel Trilogy

Obi-Wan Kenobi - Unknown, Jedi Temple, Tatooine. The sassiest of all sassy Jedi. Was a true friend, true Jedi and kicked Vader's behind.

I'd like him to finish Maul - which will probably happen.

    Sequel Trilogy - So Far

I still haven't made up my mind. I, obv, like Rey and I want her to bury Kylo (come at me, bro!), but based on Oscar Isaac's charm alone, at this moment, Poe Dameron.

    Rogue One

I LOVE THEM ALL, EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM!

But, as I explained in RO character thread, I am currently giving advantage to Cassian, the shady bastard.

    The mighty Chewbacca.

Intelligent, loyal, and has his friends back under all circumstances. A bit of a temper, which I can relate to. There are a lot of good choices out there in both canon and legends, but Chewie has always been at the top for me.
