For me it would either be Korriban or Ilum.

I am deeply fascinated by the Sith Lore (though I honestly know f*ck-all about the history, time periods etc.) and Korriban grasped my attention the very moment I made my very first Sith Warrior in SWTOR. I don't know, I was always fascinated by the idea of a great society living among the shadows, and the architecture of Korriban, the intimidating look of the academy, and just walking through all of the temples and tombs, it just leaves me wanting more. The best part about Korriban for me though is when you look up and get the beautiful view of not only a few Harrower class Star Destroyers, but also its moons, which actually look damn near realistic, and they look so close to you, like you could almost touch them, and that is what grasped me the most.

    korriban 2.jpg

And when it comes to Ilum, well, the ground may be ugly, but the sky. Like man, the amount of times I go there just to look up and gaze at the nearby star systems and the occasional shooting star. It just gives me a sense of.... maybe not adventure, but wanting to discover what is outside our reach. Endless stars and planets, full of unique views, flora and fauna. Being a believer in alien life, it really resonates with me, and the feeling of 'there's more out there' really lives out there on Ilum. A beautiful planet in the unknown regions, a symbol and example to the potential and possibility of what may be just beyond our reach.

An honorary mention I have to include though is Voss. In case it isn't apparent by now, I really love the way the skies on many of the planets in Star Wars look. Whether there's a nearby moon, a planet or a star visible. They all look so unique, yet so familiar, and Voss, while it does not beat Ilum or Korriban when it comes to the beauty of their skies, it follows closely behind, especially with its ambience theme that really just strikes home.

I wanted to put many more planets in the poll but there is a limit on poll options. Just because it isn't in the poll doesn't mean you can't post about Mandalore my dear friend :p

Mandalore is a very cool choice. Feel free to tell us why/what you like about Mandalore :)

Oh man I can't tell you how much I loved this post thank you so much. I too have a serious admiration for Korriban. Would love to know more about the History of Korriban. Never noticed the star destroyers in the sky. Awesome.

I choose Tatooine, for a lot of reasons:

    - Because our saga started there.
    - My favorite character grew up there (Luke)
    - The coolest cantina in the galaxy is there.
    - I was in some familiar places in the Death Valley where some shots of the planet was filmed. (one day I will go to Tunisia!)
    - Luke staring at the twins suns with that landscape and the theme of the force playing is one of the most beatiful momment in the entire saga.

Tatooine for the nostalgia, excitement and tan, but Naboo for quality of life, room service and weird planet geology.

There are a lot of good ones for sure! It is kinda hard to rate overall, because each can be better or worse at certain aspects, etc.

It's Jedah for me, with its ancient history and deep culture, mixed with multi-cultural atmosphere. I love that place :) (but wish they hadn't destroyed it completely, 'cause it would be a very cool place to visit in Ep.IX).

They didn't destroy it completely. Just the 'holy city'.

Potentially, yes, but according to canonical comics and whatnot something like 1/10th of the planet was ripped apart, leaving a big great hole and a destroyed ecosystem. Sure, they could ignore this in Star Wars -- (a universe where near-1G gravity & warm atmosphere inside an asteroid cave is seemingly so common that nobody questions it in ESB and wondered whether they might perhaps be inside a giant space monster) -- but if the established canonical destruction of Jedah is to have any impact, they can't just gloss over it now, IMHO. Had they kept the destruction to 'just' the holy city and surrounding area, they could easily have milked the deep history of the place again in latter movies and series. (They can, of course, still use Jedah quite effectively in the Cassian TV show etc., and I hope they do :-D ).

    This is Jedha during OT.

I don't think much of it is left by the time we reach ST.

@LadyMusashi That dosent look that bad :D. I’m sure some of it would still be habitable right.

I would also really liked to have visited Scariff though that is probably in a similar situation

DAMM YOU EMPIRE DESTROYING ALL THOSE LOVLY PLANETS.

Hopefully Naboo is still mostly intact as that looks a lovly place to spend a holiday.

Well that does look like it's seen better days for sure!

I don't pay any attention to the current EU, so I had no idea. I really wouldn't have credited it with quite so much destruction.

On this though I'd say the comics have took it a bit too far to be honest. I mean what was the point of NOT destroying the whole planet if in all intents and purposes it destroys the whole planet anyway (other than to not contradict A New Hope's 'first' test on Alderaan)?

So no... I don't accept it as canon! I refuse! (I don't think novels/comics should be canon anyway, but that's just my view)

Having said that... I agree with @Addi Ras - in the super magic galaxy of Star Wars, I see no reason why it can't still be habitable! Would be a nice to see a world in that state.

I'd vote Crait if it was on the list.

It felt more 'alien' and 'other worldly' than most of the others to me. It was slightly eerie and haunting. That salty white surface and the blood red undersoil made it more than just another Hoth or another desert planet, and more than just an Earthly environment writ large.

Also... I meant to say I agree with @Angelman, who said it first, that the usual Star Wars 'magic' could keep Jedha habitable, not just @Addi Ras.

The bastards destroyed two best planets I would have voted for - Alderaan and Scarif.

Well, SW magic is keeping it habitable during the OT, but living there requires breathing masks and other help. If the planet remained whole, the magic could have worked completely and the planet could have eventually recovered. However, with the core exposed, failing gravity and atmosphere... I doubt even the Force can save it.
