My vote is for TFA, I found it the most entertaining, most fun and closest in feel to the OT.

Easily 'The Force Awakens'. These are the reasons why:

    1) feeling/tone

This movie felt like Star Wars.

    2) characters

Rey, Finn, Poe, Kylo, Hux, etc. I pretty much liked them all. TLJ's characters were kinda boring. TROS' new characters had no screen time.

    3) the pacing
It was a fun ride which wasn't too fast, neither too slow. TLJ was too slow, TROS was too fast.

    4) the soundtrack

The music of the ST is weak, but TFA had some quite nice themes. Rey's, Kylo's theme, Jedi Steps, etc. TLJ used the Force theme all the time, TROS' music felt generic.

    5) 30 minutes
I still think the first 30 minutes (Act I) are the best minutes of all Star Wars.

The Rise of Skywalker. It was just so much fun, it reminded me why I love Star Wars in the first place, and that films like these are a fun escape.

Finally getting Rey, Poe, and Finn together was great (and long overdue), their chemistry gave the movie a huge lift and I became much more invested in these characters.

Kylo's arc was great and I think he was the mvp of the trilogy, and probably my favorite SW character now.

I think that the ST was about the legacy of what came before, literally and metaphorically, so having the spirit of Palpatine come back in the last inning with a scorched earth plan felt right.

I like that Snoke was basically Frankenstein's monster. That Palpatine is a weird bastard.

I enjoyed TFA and TLJ even more after this one.

My biggest criticism would be that I wanted more. Wish there really was a three hour cut or whatever.

And overall, it was a very satisfying ending, and the right ending. I don't think this movie was needed to tie up the saga, but it didn't have to. It tied up this trilogy, and that's enough. For me, all three trilogies have their own feel and I can see the hands of very different creators in all of them, so I never cared about anyone selling this movie as an ending for all of it.

    TROS.

I say that TFA took Star Wars in an unoriginal direction that I feel was totally wrong, and TLJ went in yet another different wrong direction. I didn’t think it was possible to tie together these movies and what I call the “real” movies, but TROS sure made a heck of an effort. It really tried hard to answer all our questions (even if it had to resort to some outlandish answers). It wasn’t enough to save the ST for me, but I enjoyed it.

TLJ, the most powerful and emotionally charged film in the franchise thus far. And a cinematic master pieces to boot. One of my all time favorite movies. As a bonus, Mark Hamill, my perhaps most important role model growing up and one of my favorite people, gave the perfomance of his lifetime in TLJ. Marvelous!

For me it was between TFA and TROS. As was mentioned above I also think the first 30 minutes of TFA are some of the very best of Star Wars - the introduction of Rey and then the Falcon chase through the Star Destroyer graveyard I can watch over and over and it’s just pure joy. TFA gave us incredible new characters in Rey, Finn and Kyle Ren.

TROS was a bit too rushed and the plot left a little to be desired if you really think about parts of it, but in the end it had soooo much Star Wars goodness in it, I just ended up loving the movie a little more than TFA. The lightsaber duels on Kijimi and then the wreckage of the DS were just awesome and the emotional moments from the death of Leia, C3POs sacrifice and finally Rey Skywalker...admit I loved them all. Just a blast of a movie that hit so many great notes.

I truly wish JJ had directed all 3 movies just to bring a little more coherence to the 3 movies and the overarching story. The ability for the OT to tell a coherent 3 episode story with 3 different directors keeps the OT as the best of the trilogies for me.

    TRoS.

Didn't even have to think about this one.

TLJ is a great film, but TRoS surpasses it by bringing back my favorite character in the franchise - Palpatine - and thing together the entire Site as Saga in a way that satisfies every single 'want' I have when it comes to the franchise: myth-building, cyclical nuance, compelling character evolution/exploration, and a sense of both 'fun' and 'real stakes'.

The first 20 mins of the Force Awakens up until the Millennium Falcon shows up are sensational and are right up there with the best of the Saga.

But as a whole film probably the Rise of Skywalker, while its rushed it just has the most most awesome moments in it.

I agree, it would have been better if JJ had directed all three films or at least written the story for all three and overseen the whole trilogy.

    Not necessary.

He did... along with Kathleen Kennedy.

After the way the trilogy turned out, I disagree.

Did he though? I though RJ wrote TLJ.

    TFA.
Just because I'll never forget how pumped and happy I was at the Premiere, just sitting there and watching it.
This was one of the few films that just made me "let it happen" and shut my brain off, in a good way.
I didn't care about Plotholes or the Movies' Weaknesses (and there are plenty), I just sat there in my Cinema Seat and held handy with my best Friend and we didn't say a word until we hit the Bar later and discussed the Movie for hours.

Sadly, TLJ and TROS didn't do the Job for me.

Well having watched TROS 17 times-in theaters :). I have to give it to that . Seriously it was a great and moving film . The story, the acting and so many of the little touches just made it for me. I really felt sucked into the film and it had so much emotional resonance for me. I actually cared what happened to the characters. I am also pleased that Terrio and JJ didn't listen to the vocal whiners and dismissed the TLJ. They took the best parts of that film and built on it. It was as if the films functioned like a pair. There were things in TLJ I didn't even get or catch until I watched TROS.

And as a massive Rey fan it was nice to see her growth and evolution from plucky girl to confident young woman. She evolved into the warrior queen she was meant /born to be. I would love to see the rest of her journey. Also while not a Ren fan, I think that JJ gave him the best send off possible. He ceased and desisted with the entitled man-baby behavior and stepped up to the plate and behaved like a grown man. Whether that be in leading the FO, taking down Palpy and sacrificing his life to save the woman he loved.

And the thing I especially loved about Rey and Kylo's evolution it wasn't automatic. It was a conscious choice on both their parts to go through psychological changes and to change. In all TROS and TLJ have fast become what I call my 'personal development films'.

I agree. The fact that he actually behaved like a 60+ man who was tired and burnt out by life (which is the natural human condition) just lent his performance so much more depth. I couldn't take the film seriously if they had him talking like some 20 something college kid.

I voted The Force Awakens. I liked quite a lot of things from the movie: planets, charactes, soundtrack. Snoke was the main villain and I liked both good and bad characters. And don't forget Harrison Ford.

    The Last Jedi.

As much as I like the OT vibes of TFA, it gave me little new things. It was a fun romp, but I stopped needing to watch it after four times. Still, will certainly be re watched many times in the future.

TLJ made me think for days and weeks afterwards, I've seen it in parts countless times, I even made myself a T-shirt with my favorite scene (Luke vs. Walkers on Crait). In still return to my favorite scenes, quotes, the way I did with The Empire. I was so excited about Rian's trilogy afterwards. Ah, well...

The less I say about TROS, better. Some amazing moments and separate sequences, but overall it's a cotton candy mess. The weakest of the sequels and probably the film I'll watch the least of the three in the future. So, TLJ all the way.

The Force Awakens. It might not be the best on every technical level, but it's so full of joy, and it's just so Star Wars. I'll never forget the excitement and discussion leading up to that movie and after that movie. It's what made me a Star Wars fan again after half a decade away.

TFA, incredible unoriginal almost like a fan film, but from all 3 its still the one I can watch the most.

TLJ sucks and TROS sucks even more, mostly because the director wanted to correct the mistakes of the predecessor.
