Final Battle

Well, since we know nothing about anything at this point, the most likely scenario is Rey dueling Kylo Ren and at his lair, Poe kicking ass in his X-Wing and Finn leading the troops on the ground. Whether it's going to be a planet or a big ship is too early to tell.
We've actually already seen every possibility (landscapes, spaceships, artificial planets) so, the only original thing could be some sort of "force dimesion" or a "spiritual realm".

 

For once I want a space battle in the ST. I mean a real and big one. => ROTJ style.

So, exactly like ROTJ. Maybe they'll mix it up. At first we have a duel between Rey and Kylo. Kylo gets redeemed and after that he takes part in a space battle by the help of the Millenium Falcon.

 

They're going back to Jakku : D

I don’t think this will happen but a final battle between Rey and Kylo on Mustafar would be cool and a great callback.

 

I want something original out of Episode IX. Given JJ's record (ST Into Darkness in particular) it's probably not happening, but still. Maybe start the movie with the FO on the brink of defeat and Kylo Ren on the run whom people, who have taken over FO leadership. Rey would be forced to team up with him early on and have a bunch of great scenes with character development. The final battle could be something we didn't see yet - a WWII-style city battle with a lot of rubble, fighting for every building, lots of tanks blowing up etc.
Or, with our luck, we might instead end up with another Death Star and resurrected Snoke, who would turn out to be both Darth Plaguis and Rey's father’s brother’s nephew’s cousin’s former roommate.

 

The following is in no way a spoiler unless I'm "just that good."

My thought has always been a showdown with an early clear victory for the resistance but in a "if I can't win no one can " moment Kylo does something that will unless stopped kill a bunch of people; destroy a sun, pull a moon from orbit, gravity bomb; ect. So despite winning the overall conflict victory is snatched from the heroes unless they stop what boils down to a bomb. It's in this scenario that the final lightsaber battle takes place. Kylo has another conflicted moment and dies trying to stop the doomsday scenario. In other words he is both the BBEG and has a turns to the light moment.

 

Ren is overthrown by Hux, imprisoned. he reaches out to Rey but stubbornly refuses to reject the Dark and she stubbornly refuses to help him until it's clear that she must if they're to win. she takes a risk and rescues him, but he immediately sets out to take back his power and position. the Resistance decides to strategically use this to their advantage; with the FO at war with each other, they can take the day.

Rey and Ren have to work together and spend the whole operation quarreling and sorting out their complaints. they finally storm Vader's castle on Mustafar in a grand spectacle (that's for you, @NinjaRen) to dethrone Emperor Hux (that's for you @RockyRoadHux), but when faced with dispatching Hux, Ren realizes he can't do it--that he'll take the throne and Rey will just try to dispatch him in turn and there will never be an end to it: no balance, no peace, no order. he tells Rey to kill him and be done with it. Rey admits those were her orders, but she too realizes it's not the solution and defies them.

Ren calls off the FO army. Rey calls off the Resistance. everyone sits down to tea. Mitaka and Connix are put in charge of building a new confederation. Ben goes home to his mother in the Outer Regions to get his snoot together, and Rey goes off to build a new Jedi order whose mission will be to help mediate disputes with no personal gain to be had. the FO is recommissioned as a peace-keeping organization under the direction of Poe (navy) and Finn (army). Hux is given a therapy kitten and sent to a rehabilitation planet where they have nice beaches, but excellent shade trees.

okay that's getting silly, but i think what could really happen and be interesting is if the war is really and truly over. the Force is in balance on the macro-scale, but there's still a lot of work to do on the micro-scale. stories that follow would be about the aftermath: about lingering tensions, resentment, the opportunists who try to take advantage, ongoing terrorist cells still operating, the peacekeepers restoring worlds to their autonomy. basically all the stuff that didn't happen post-RotJ. and the stormtroopers would now be the good guys (that's for me. XD).

i dunno; i think that could be far more interesting and offer far more variety for long-term story-telling than yet another short period of faux-peace followed by yet another galactic super-weapon threat with a single central "villain".

 

I am afraid, that, even after retirement, Hux will end up fighting a resistance.

Those damn rabbits will bow before the First Order!

Does it? I didn't watch the movie because I'm too old and Peter Rabbit is barely known around here. Besides, if I wanted to see Daisy Ridley struggling against Domhnall Gleeson, I'd rather watch something with spaceships and lasers
Going back on topic, Hux is definately a kind of character who would try to overthrow Kylo Ren (he did arrange for his father to be "taken care of") and would either fail or succeed and then screw everything up.

 

What ever we get, the expectations need subverting! Must make those critic$ happy!

but yes, people underestimate Hux.
he won't put up with Ren's abuse and he's always had his eye on the throne.
whatever the final battle will be, i'm guessing he'll be at the center of it.
i'm only curious what insane thing he'll have dredged up from the "contingency" to put the galaxy on the edge.

 

That's a really nice ending. From SW at this point I expect something with more explosions and cut off limbs.

 

Okay we've got Poe leading a space battle, Finn leading a ground battle. It's all spectacular and the stakes are monumental. Hux is leading the FO forces while Kylo and the Knights of Ren face off against Rey. He mentions that he needed them for backup. Rey ignites her saber and swings it upward into a defensive stance. Kylo goes into a stance, reaches behind his back, swings up a bouquet of roses. Rey is taken aback as one of the Knights of Ren blows on a mouth-tuner and the group hums in unison "Hmmmmm". Kylo snaps his fingers in a beat "two, three, four" and they go into an acapella version of:

So we're cutting between the space battle, the ground battle and the musical. Finally it appears that the Resistance has won, Kylo (now Ben Solo) ends the song saying, "Take a chance on me, Rey." Rey is skeptical. Now a furious Hux (he despises musicals) unleashes his ultimate weapon. He calls it NEGA BRAIN! and it's Snoke's brain hooked up inside of a giant mechanical spider-looking thing. It can control all technology and takes control of all the Resistance machinery. It opens a chamber and droid armies run out. It ominously says "NEGA BRAIN!" and the tide turns. Now the Resistance is being defeated. Hux cries "What have I done?!" as NEGA BRAIN also attacks the FO as well as the Resistance. It's up to Ben and Rey to defeat NEGA BRAIN with force powers alone! Can it be done? Or is the galaxy doomed? Will the force ghosts appear? Will Broomboy arrive with a squad of Broomkids? Can Ben and Rey use their powers together and go super saiyan? I honestly have no idea, but probably.

 

A Mamma Mia-Star Wars crossover. That's what Episode X is going to be like. With Cher and Amanda Seyfried singing alongsode Daisy Ridley and Oscar Isaac.

 

Why Kylo kills Snoke , to run the FO, I dont see him teaming up with Rey unless Rey turns dark and I would love to see that.

This what I like to see for the Finial Battle:

What Disney should do in 9 with FInn, let Finn take on a Faceoff with Kyo Ren again but this time allow FInn to shine as he should as force sensitive. While Finn and Kylo Fights let it be over Rey, and when Finn gets the upper hand allow Rey to come to Kylo aid and to his defense. Then there be true tension between Rey and Finn friends becomes enemies. As Obi One and Anakin Skywalker as Vader fights, and mix between their battle Mace Windu fighting Darth Sidious this be Finn and Supreme leader Kylo fighting, as Windu got the hands up to Sidious , Anakin came to Sidious aid and cut off Windo's hand in such let this be Rey and Kylo and Rey submits to the dark side of Kylo Ren, and let Rey and battle Finn. Rey wanting to save him from Finn, and Finn wanting to destory Supreme Leader Kylo because of the great evil and threat he is. Rey and Finn battle it out I like to see the movie end on that note.
