Final Battle

Maybe but would he have fit DP into all the microscopic world of the Force. I love George. I even have a soft spot for the PT but when I heard the intended focus it seemed to me he wanted an entire trilogy to try to prove to fans midechloreans were cool.

Still I think DP undermines the significance of Anakin. And pulls down Vader and Sidious as villains to deliver a connection to the saga that somehow people don't see as we watch the direct descendant of the Chosen one from the PT. Try to ruin the galaxy the ST gave us.

People want DP because it fits the head canon they imagined.

 

It's canon that DP is the reason that Anakin is even born by the force. It would have been great to fight against the "creator" of the Skywalkers. I don't think this would have ruined the ST, but actually saved it.

It's not about what the fans want. George pretty much showed this every day. Haha! But it's kinda weird, right? Han Solo is the most beloved SW character, but almost no one wanted to see a spin-off movie with him. Okay, that's mainly because of Harrison Ford. I wonder if George would have used Harrison in his Solo spin-off movie. It's Indy 4 all over again!

 

They're exceptions. Clone Wars coming back as an example.

 

Orignally, Clone Wars (and the series) was also not a movie/project which was received well by the fans. But things change, yes and there are exceptions. It's awesome to bring back Clone Wars and to please the fans, even though I'm not one of those fans. I didn't need Clone Wars to come back. But that's a different topic.

 

I just hope JJ makes a good job in the final battle. I don't wanna see a mess like it was the end of TPM for example: too many things happening at the same time. Anakin with the jedi starfighter x the federation/Padme and the naboos invading the palace/Jar Jar and the gungans x the battle droids/Maul x Qui Gon and Obi-wan.
I really think that JJ will gives us something better and not so busy like the great final battle of TFA: Poe and the resistance attacking Starkiller base/Rey and Finn x Kylo.
So think its gonna be like: Space or terrain battle of the First Order x Resistence/Final battle between Rey and Kylo

 

Yeah, it should be 3 set pieces at a max. Poe = space battle. Finn (Rose) ground battle and Rey vs Kylo (KOR).

IMO the TFA final was great. You could easily follow everything and it was paced very nicely.

 

The Clone Wars movie sucked though. The later episodes of Clone Wars were good. Supposedly at least.

 

Ashoka's arc (including Rebels) is right up there with Vader's and Luke's arc.

 

I know. I'm just not a fan of Clone Wars or Rebels. Ashoka is a cool character and she would have probably been a nice additon for the movies, but in the end I prefer characters like Luke, Kylo or Obi-Wan much more.

you should at least watch the Ahsoka and Satine arcs from Rebels. there's other cool stuff (mostly Rex), but those two stories are worthwhile if you can find a break-down that will give them to you without all the filler.

but as far as the final battle, while it could be done, i think they should steer away from introducing any live-action Rebels or Clone Wars characters in the 11th hour unless they make them super-accessible to the uninitiated and 100% logical to the storyline (not impossible, but a challenge given how much we already have on the plate). i really don't want Ezra or Ahsoka or Doctor Aphra or whoever to come in and upstage Finn & Poe especially. that would be uncool.

 

guessing thier will be a show down between Rey and Kylo, Kylo will be redeemed at the last moment...... really hope Im wrong though

 

Naboo is more fitting for Leia's funeral. The final should be on Mustafar. This would bring the whole series full circle. Anakin died/Vader was born on Mustafar <=> Kylo dies/Ben Solo rises on Mustafar.

 

the literal full circle is Tatooine. the half-circle is Jakku.
one way or another, if we're doing any circles, we're ending up on a desert planet. XD

Rey vs Kylo happens on Mustafar. Kylo dies and Rey has a new Jedi temple or something like that on Tatooine or Jakku. Or Ben went into exile on Tatooine.

 

Go full orb and return to Naboo. Naboo's orbit, to be precise.

 

good point. in that case, i want the final battle to happen on Coruscant ~ big and messy as all get out: civilians everywhere, 'splosions, etc.
we need to see an actual all-out ground war for once.
