vader is more likely but the tantive iv thing woud require Leia.

 

how about the final shot/scene being on alderaan? could be pretty powerful. especially if you add bail talking to leia for the final time.

 

That would be cool just seeing Alderaan again since it looks really cool in ROTS so seeing the evolution if any would be pretty cool .

 

The final shot is the IV intro scroll starting to role in space as vader hops onboard the star destroyer

In all seriousness, i think it's jyn dying and the tantive IV confirming they received the plans.

Haha. I love the idea that we'd see the Ep IV scroll off in the distance, from a different angle.

I think we will see the Tantive IV. Maybe even the beginning of the star destroyer's attack on it.

 

My perfect final shot would be a shot of the Tantive IV leaving Alderaan, and we see Bail looking beyond the horizon in his palace. We could even get a glimpse of the back of a young white hooded woman, walking towards the Tantive IV and two familiar droids can be seen getting to the ship too. I know, sounds too much like fan-service, but here is my reasoning behind: the second-to-last shot of ROTS was the Tantive IV arriving to Alderaan, taking Bail with Baby Leia for the first time. Seeing the Tantive IV leaving Alderaan with Princess Leia on her mission would be poetic, since we see when she goes to Alderaan for the first time (ROTS) and we would be seeing when she leaves Alderaan for the last time. Obviously a clear shot of her face would not be possible, but using someone else or just for us to have the idea of it by seeing her ship would be so powerful.

 

Why? after Rogue One the rebels we see in this movie are useless. The last thing i want them to do is retcon IV/V/VI canon are start claiming "oh Jyn was in the background of the rebel meetings" or "oh she was killed on alderaan". I already think it's cringey enough that you have folks like filoni trying to say that rex was the old dude in ROTJ.


Rogue One needs to be self contained. I don't want these standalone's infecting canon to the point it becomes a jumbled mess and then they need ANOTHER canon wipe.

 

If theyre uselsss after this movie then it's a waste of time producing this movie. They have no choice to retcon when they introduce new characters as prequels. and filoni only said that rex COULD be that guy, but isnt really him.

hmmm, I have a feeling we may see a young Leia at the end as a suprise. Not 100% sure how they will do it exactly (just from behind or a deaged version), but I just have this kind of feeling.

 

I think the Tantive jumping to hyperspace from Alderaan to Tantooine just seconds after receiving the transmission of the plans would be the most likely final scene. Then a brief hold on the Star field and roll credits.

 

It would be cool if the movie ended with the star destroyer coming out of lightspeed and beginning its attack on the Tantive IV.

 

I agree. I think they will use the same technology they used to de-age Robert Downey Jnr in Civil War.

 

The Tantive IV & Avengers hitting lightspeed the camera turning once more to the death star.

 

If they keep a Skywalker out of it (ie Darth Vader or Princess Leia) it will be the first time in a Star Wars film where there wasn't one in the last scene.
