    Hello folks,

I´ve just came from my second screening of Force Awakens. First time I saw TFA I thought that Finn loses his arm during his duel with Kylo Ren but today I´ve noticed that Kylo "only" hits his back with the saber. He doesn´t cut off anything (or am I wrong?).

I was wondering about Finn´s injury. Last time we see him he´s in a deep coma and he doesn´t wake up. What if he will be really badly injured and he will finally wake up somewhere during Episode VIII? I was thinking that he might be disabled that would be a interesting twist. Do you remeber Clieg Lars - Anakin´s step father? He had something like a flying wheel chair. I can imagine Finn sitting on it helping the Resistance in the fight with the First Order. He´s former stormtrooper so he knows a lot of things which can be helpful.
It could be also interesting dividing of main good characters - jedi Rey, heroic pilot Poe and tactical commander Finn.

To be honest I don´t really think this will happened I just wanted to share this theory with you.

I agree, I don't think it's likely, but I would applaud Disney if they did go this route.

He is going to be scared. mentally and physically. How badly is up to RJ to decide. He needs to be able to move because as soon as he comes to he is going to want to find Rey

I wouldn't be surprised if in Episode VIII we see him in a Resistance VA hospital, learning how to walk again.

True, but TECHNICALLY, if she will see him again, that could mean that she'll come back for him eventually, from a certain point of view, at least that's the way that I see it .

Makes sense to me. Kylo Ren severed Finn's spinal cord. Disney is all about inclusivity. Now they have the handicapped demographic covered. I'm all about Finn piloting a wheel chair shaped like a tie fighter.

This would really make a statement that episode VIII is trying new things. I somehow doubt they'd make Finn disabled, though. TFA showed that Lucasfilm is being pretty conservative about diverging from established Star Wars images and tropes. But I could see them giving us a Finn who was rehabilitating from severe injuries, both physically and emotionally, which could be quite interesting.

A lot depends on when episode VIII begins. Will it jump a couple of years, like ESB did? If so, the recovery angle would seem to be excluded. But I don't think this will happen: it would be criminal to deprive us of seeing the beginnings of Luke and Rey's relationship. I'm hoping, then, that episode VIII will start things off at the exact moment TFA ended...

Probably because that method is outdated? This is decades after so maybe there is even better technology available.

I'd be pissed if they relegated Finn to a wheelchair. Lars was only in one because he lost a leg and didn't have the money to get a prosthetic one.

There is no way that Finn isn't healed or was given some other mean to walk. Leia will do everything possible to help him since it was her son who wounded him in the first place. Not to mention that he gave them all Starkiller information and helped lower the shields for the X-wings. He's one of the heroes.

We might see him struggle to learn how to walk or suffer from PTSD, but his buddy Poe will help him with that. :D

I think that Finn has an implant like the ones that were in the Clone Troopers with the hidden "Order 66" sub-routine.

I think that was why he "broke his conditioning", why Kylo Ren knew his "Serial Code Name" by heart, and why Kylo Ren purposely "injured him" when he could have cut in two.

    That's my theory.

Whatever the injury is, appears to be really bad as he looked as if he was slashed in the back of his back and neck area, it will be interesting to see what they do and i hope they dont just brush it off, i think something has to be wrong with him to have more determination in being apart of the rebellion against the First Order. I loved the Finn character, i was rather skeptical but he was funny and i loved the character.
