Thanks to Disney Plus and Amazon Prime I'm now enjoying these shows.

I loved Firefly, so sad that it only lasted one season. I need to see the movie by the way.

Just watched the BSG Mini Series (like a pilot of 3 hours long) and started the series, still watching the first season and I am really impressed with what I saw so far. Excellent show, getting addicted.

Ps. Never watched the BSG from the 70's. Is it good?

Well, at least it was one of the best sci-fi shows at the time
I was young and needed more space battles.

it’s very much of its time... but I adored it as a kid and still look on it fondly now. Just ignore Galactica 1980 which was sub par, even lower budget and borders on trolling it’s parent show

edit: the only caveat to that would be the episode 'The Return of Starbuck' which brought back one of the stars of the parent show in a story which was later emulated/reinterpreted for the reimagined series.

I enjoyed Firefly and wish it got the opportunity to tell it's full story. BSG got to go for the full burn and I enjoyed every bit of it. With no hesitation I'd watch anything from either.
FWIW: I had the opportunity to meet many of the BSG actors at conventions and attend their panels, all are super fan friendly and a joy to chat with.

Yep, she was super cool, got several pics with her. She brought her mom to the convention and she sat at a chair just behind Katie. (mom was working on needle work or something)

That is so cool, she's one of my favourite actors. Should've played Cap. Marvel!

I voted Battlestar, even though it hurt. I think if they treat a remake of BSG similarly to how they treated the '08 version, we could have something very special on our hands. Firefly feels like lightning in a bottle, and I don't think trying to replicate it would work very well. Also, The Mandalorian and other soon-to-come Star Wars shows take up that Space Western cultural occupancy at the moment, so I don't think it would do as well as people believe either. Sure, there's clearly enough room at the table for both, but I just don't think it'll work out like people think it would. (Mal and Inara's relationship and insults would be found offensive to many today.) That being said, I'm all for having more interracial relationships onscreen, and Firefly did a good job at that.
