    The production company that worked on R1 bought a very rare replica of Vader's lightsaber hilt from user "Sapper32" on the RPF forum in 2014.
    They also bought Anakin's lightsaber hilt for TFA from a member of that forum.

    I also hope we will see a lightsaber used in this movie. I'm mainly into the Jedi/lightsaber/force aspect of Star Wars, so without this it is not the same. But I see and understand that there are fans who prefer to see a movie without it. ;)

    I agree. While I have nothing against light saber combat, I think the thrill has diminished somewhat, imo.

    I don't agree that they're diminished, but I agree with the overall sentiment of your post. These Force users (and their lightsabers) are the oddities in the galaxy, not the norm. It can lose its magic when overdone. Having a non-Force, non-lightsaber movie really sets the tone of the rest of the "normal" galaxy and, if anything, will deepen the meaning of those who can wield the Force.

    I keep seeing people post that Vader should not use him lightsaber in this because he never used it against rebels before, only force choking them. However, my argument is that this is probably our last chance to see Vader in live action, with the exception of a flashback, so I really hope they use this opportunity to show us everything we wanted to see in a prequel with Vader but never did. All we got was the "Nooooo!" And him folding his arms. I hope we get to see him do something incredible with that red saber.

    Put me in the "no light saber action" camp. I think not seeing any light saber action increases the value of seeing it in the other movies.
