Flags Identified In Trailer #3

incredible work! and it looks like you might have hit a record for most great post ratting on a single post...we really should have a way to keep track of that sort of thing lol.

Makes sense that a pirate den/bar would draw a diverse crowd of 'lowlifes' --- bounty hunters, podracers, crime lords---
it seems akin to writing "x was here" on the wall.
Cool touch-definitely designed to keep it feeling like a 'used universe' and keep us fans busy for days


EDIT: Also if these are really meant to represent pod racers, it would be like a restaurant putting up pictures of celebrities who had eaten there--- like 'sebulba drank here' ....etc---- definitely a funny in universe joke

 

If I had to hazzard a guess I would think it went something like this:

*The set designers scrounging through the warehouses and come across a bunch of old crap.*
Set Designer: "What's all this s**t then?"
*Assistant consults their tablet, reads out Lot #s.*
Assistant: "Apparently they were all used on the Pod Racing set for TPM."
Set Designer: "ok grab them all. we'll decorate the outside of the castle with them. It will be a fun little Easter egg for someone to find some day."
Assistant: "Right boss." *Makes a note*

I wonder what the importance of these flags is.

They would have had to raid The Archives at the ranch for that to happen.

 

I just think it's a good way to bring the PT trilogy in a little but not to much.
One of the things people liked a lot about the prequels was the POD RACE and to make it historical like this is just so WELL done. Bravo........ J.J. and Kasdan

Which brings up something I have pondered for ages, why wasnt there a pod racing episode of The Clone Wars...

Recent use of flags in star wars occured in Lost Stars book, which is part of "Journey to...". There was the traditional valley folk, where every clan had a flag with their symbol. When a family was in some sort of crisis, the others would come and bring their flags, leaving them in front of the house, to show their support.
Maybe there is some connection here? I actually think they used it mostly for decoration in the movie, but it is possible they instructed the writer after that to give it some depth..
