    downloadfile-1.jpg Greetings Mando fans. As many of you know, I'm pretty much a TIE pilot/imperial fan. I love TIE pilots. I also, not love, but really like The Mandalorian but, love Moff Gideon. He's an ex - imperial, helmetless, TIE pilot warlord of an ex - imperial faction. I never thought I would see a TIE being flown by an ex - imperial in the post ROTJ pre TFA period which is why I'm so drawn to this character. I thought he deserved a thread despite his minimal acknowledgement by Mando fans. So, if your in any way intrigued by this character, feel free to post. I have spoken.

    Well, I like Moff Gideon as a villain, but I don't know if I'd go so far as to call myself a fan... How about call me intrigued by Moff Gideon. ;) I want to know more about his evil deeds on Mandalore and elsewhere.

    It's funny how things work, but in the chapter 8 thread I just mentioned that as my current hypothesis. It looks like he's wanting to make himself into the new Darth Vader. That he has a dark saber really brought it into clarity. He dresses in black armor, flies a TIE which stands out, kills his own troops that fail him, has a dark saber. All that's missing is the force connection perhaps he's planning a midichlorian transfer or something of that experimental nature?

    Looks like he's a fear-monger like Vader and plans to regroup the Empire under his own rule, being Vader-like would provide that connection to the past and act as a galvanic rallying point of sorts. Maybe this is the start of the First Order?

    Yes. It's called the Dark Saber. It was the unique lightsaber of a Jedi from Mandalore a long time ago. It became an important symbol to the Mandalorian people. Gideon must have taken it during the Great Purge of Mandalore they've referenced a few times.

    You don't have to watch the entire show if you don't want, just Mandalorian episodes: The Mandalore Plot, Voyage of temptation, Duchess of Mandalore, Corruption, The Academy, Eminence, Shades of Reason, The Lawless. You watched the Rebels and if you watch the new Clone Wars season (Siege of Mandalore), you'll have pretty complete picture about both darksaber and possible hints about Moff Gideon.

    I feel like the actor they chose for this role was spot on perfect. Giancarlo creates a certain grit yet at the same time comes off as intimidating.

    You should watch Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul if you haven't yet. He's so good in those 2 shows.

    Him holding up the dark saber is almost just as cool as his death scene in BB.
