For the first time, I'm not excited for a new Star Wars movie

It's also funny if you imagine what would be written about the Battle of Scarif. Like, the history books wouldn't even mention that Jyn and Cassian forced the Alliance's hand and that the Alliance didn't want to fight the battle. The history textbook would make it some consensus-driven, planned attack with all the support of the Alliance fleet, lol. Like how you first learn that the British 'attacked' a Lexington militia armory, then only after you start getting into the details, the Battle of Lexington is a cloudy affair where nobody has a completely accurate version of what happened.

It's kind of fun, knowing now how 'on the edge' that small sentence in the opening crawl of a 1977 film really was, and how dangerously thin the 'first victory' really was. Wow.

But if that was a victory, I would hate to see what the defeats were like. Yeesh.

You appear to have assumed that I don't like TFA. I have a lot of criticisms of it, but I love it.

I wish the ending of R1 fit ANH's beginning better. I wish R1 had a tighter story with more charm. I wish they kept the focus on the new characters - it didn't need Tarkin (extremely distracting); I wish the rebels were the small group we see in ANH (without squid admirals)
And I wish the first three prequels were as good as this one.
