"If he's trying to recover knowledge, you know, it's like I don't want to do a holocron; holocrons have been done, don't do that. And I could hear both Pablo and Leland groan, and they're like, 'Yeah not another holocron.' And we'd been talking a lot about Palpatine and really about how horrible he was, and I think it was Pablo who said, 'You know what, you should use the tree from the Jedi Temple, from the Clone Wars cartoon,' and I was like, 'Oh that's a fantastic idea. That's a fantastic idea.' And that's where it came from. It was quite literally Story Group saying, 'Use the tree!' and I said, 'Oh that's beautiful.' And that's such a beautiful metaphor, you know, and it's a perfect metaphor for what the galaxy is like after Return of the Jedi."

Many millenia ago, a family visited uncharted planet.

There, a Force sensitive tree has grown up. A boy and a girl visited it. They were the first humanoids that felt the Force .
Kids start to develop strange powers while standing near a mysterious tree.
The boy then apparently kills the girl and falls to the Dark Side, but she actually survives thanks to the powers of the tree and becomes the founder of the Jedi order.

The founder of the Jedi order eventually died, but promissed what has become a Jedi legend, that she will return as a "Chosen" in time that nobody knows, and should be trained by the Jedi to bring the balance back.

She was granted the spirit survival after death,

while the brother has seeked the way of immortality in flesh, as his spirit can't survive death.

The boy , his survival, is main reason of lost of balance in the Force.
Only demise of brother can bring back the balance in the Force.

The Jedi order has spent millenia in seeking to train the "Chosen One" as only the trained Chosen will bring the balance to the Force. They trained millions.

Rey is probably the incarnation of the Founder of Jedi.

Anakin was false "chosen one" designed by Snoke, in order to eradicate the Jedi. The reason was to kill all the Jedi, and to prevent the training of any eventual reincarnation of the "Chosen one".

I despise all these "force tree" rumours. If any of this is true, I'm out!

Snoke kind of looks like a tree.

So Snoke would be the boy ?

And he would have turned Kylo Ren because he feared he was the one ?

Very interesting post.Realistically,I don't see this becoming anything more than speculation, although I could grow to accept the idea if it gets some more in-depth explanation.

This force tree stuff is corny. Please no reincarnation and if anything keep the lil happy trees to a minimum in the story.

Tree lore is a suspected ancient school of knowledge with roots stretching back into our earliest symbolic imaginations.

The Tree is a common universal, archetypal symbol that can be found in many different traditions around the ancient world. Trees are symbols of physical and spiritual nourishment, transformation and liberation, sustenance, spiritual growth, union and fertility.

The tree is a spiritual motif and framework, a map of conception and consciousness that brings together the temporal worlds of time, space and consciousness.

Trees are the places of birth and death; they are used as sacred shrines and places of spiritual pilgrimage, ritual, ceremony and celebration. Sacred trees are found in the Shamanic, Hindu, Egyptian, Sumerian, Toltec, Mayan, Norse, Celtic and Christian traditions.

The World-tree is described in The Upanishads as “a tree eternally existing, its roots aloft, its branches spreading below.”

Three months later, Bey assisted CommanderLuke Skywalker, the last Jedi Knight, in retrieving two fragments of aForce-sensitive tree from the Empire on Vetine. She retired from the Alliance shortly thereafter.

I don't dislike this theory, but I feel like that would take a lot of the wind out of Vader's arc and story if he's not the Chosen One. It feels too...retconny (not a real word, I know). Maybe Anakin was the Chosen One but Rey is the reincarnation? And how does this fit into the lore of the Father, Son, and Daughter from The Clone Wars? Specifically the Father, since the Son and Daughter can mesh pretty well with what the theory states. But also, quick question. @McDiarmid, did you come up with this theory or did you find it? Because I'm pretty sure Screenrant had a similar (if not identical) theory and the SWNN twitter tried to tell them it was false...

It would imply that Rey wasn't dreaming about Luke with the island and the ocean but of the fisrt jedi temple where she belongs.

Maybe it's false but it fits perfectly to what we saw in TFA, the novels and even the Comics. In Poe's dameron story Luke sent Poe's mother in mission to retrieve the trees of the Jedi temple which were stolen by Palpatine.

Agreed about the similarities with Father-Son-Daughter.Especially the parts where
Dark Side boy kills Light Side girl and Father turning matters around to balance the hit the Force takes.
I believe the two would be the very same thing told in different contexts, visually in the frame of TCW,since it is a TV series, and in the sense of a legend in the tree theory.

The tree story sounds more like the Shannara Chronicles than Star Wars. It will move the franchise closer to the fantasy genre and further away from SciFi, in the opposite direction of the prequels, which tried to build a "scientific" basis for the force with the midchlorians.

Interesting, I always wandered why a Dagobah cave would have Dark Side, when we know Force should surround Life, not Dead matter like caves and soil.

A living being was carrier of the Dark Side there on Dagobah, a tree, with a pit below it?

I'll take the tree theory with a grain of salt. THe movie is still a year and a half away. Have to remember their was so much out about TFA that turned out to not be totally accurate!

Could this be all a part of Disney's scheme to join both star wars and marvel universes together. Could Groot be the source of the force? Nah.

damn, @Bandini , you're right. this thread needs a bump!

@McDiarmid you... kinda called it. kudos!

not to say that's the way the plot is going to go down, but this... oddly fits with the VD leak.
