I love episode 4. The robot reminds me of the butler/guard droid for Maz's castle. Hearing/seeing the clone wars crew together again was great too. Were those fish people new aliens or does anyone recognize them?

One minor niggle is that Ashoka shouldn't pat the fish person on the head. Seems patronizing.

p.s. Another thought about the Leia episode. I almost got grumpy when wicket weighed enough to lift the two stormtroopers, but was happy to see that simple pulley physics was mostly obeyed. Maybe its the physicist in me, but things like Legolas running up falling rocks gets me upset. I'm fine with magic laser swords and hyperspace, but basic kinematics need to be obeyed for things to feel real.

 

I guess I'm a fish racist. They all look the same to me I thought it was the bigger one. That makes a lot more sense.

 

I have to say that I have been disappointed in this series thus far. When I first heard that LFL was doing a series of animated shorts based on the female characters of Star Wars, I thought that was great! I have two daughters and I like for them to see female heroes. But I was really expecting something more substantial. I would have much preferred to have a 10-15 minute short for each character, similar to the shorts that Pixar puts in front of their movies, that showed these women overcoming real challenges. These three minute cartoons just seem like throw-aways to me.

 

Some observations on the meta:
650k views for the first video
145k views for the second
100k views for the third
30k so far for the one today.

First video got 8k/3k like/dislike
Second/third video both got 4k/~500 like/dislike
Fourth has as of now 2k/~250

Interesting: these are not being posted to the Star Wars channel. They're posted on Disney's main channel.

 

That's how I initially felt, but they're growing on me. The Rey shorts feel pretty mediocre to me, the Leia one felt average, but the Ahsoka one was very good. I like your idea for the Pixar-type short films, as sometimes I like those types of short films better than the movie itself!

 

2 childish 4 me. It makes Rebels look PG13 & TCW an R.

 

What happened to episode 5? 2 with Rey, 1 with leia, 1 with ashoka before this

I'm surprised no one mentioned yet that the Ewok that picks up the blaster is this Ewok from RotJ:



Did anyone else immediately recognize him?

 

I want to know why Chewie was sleeping with the Wampa. That was weird.

she has moments ~ some words or phrases feel spot-on to me, but then you can always tell it's not Carrie Fisher and that's a little jarring.
i think they did pretty good considering. Fisher really does have a very specific and probably hard to emulate voice.
