I couldn't find this anywhere, so I drafted up this post.

This forum needs alternative skins. I do not say this as a point of taste. I'm saying that as a point of general health and comfort.
White on black, after a long stent of reading, can leave a number of eyeballs seeing tracers where the sentences were after the person looks up - especially if the viewing is taking place in low light or darker environments.

To fix this issue for myself, I have literally had to install a browser-level css editor and go through each element on the site and adjust the colors to something which doesn't stab my eyeballs with horizontal lines of tracers when I look up from the screen.

Generally speaking, it's not a good sign if anyone has to reskin your site to avoid a painful experience.

Thanks for the great site, and I hope to see a supported option for alternate skins in the future.

    Cheers,
    Jayson :)

Yeh great site indeed lots of good feedback.
Alternate Skins would be cool as well.

In case it helps, to the staff (and possibly design team/person).

This is what I flipped the site skin to so that I don't have tracers on my eyes after long reads.

Honestly the dark skin/theme of this forum put me off joining when I was first introduced to it. I have done similar as @Jayson, and use a plug-in to give me a light theme when using this forum on a desktop browser... but it's not ideal as it does incur a slight performance hit... and I'm still trying to find a good solution for my iPad browsing (other than inverting the screen colours lol).

I can use the default appearance a little bit but I do get the horrible 'tracers' if I use it for too long.

An official light theme/skin/mode would be much appreciated sometime if possible. :)
