so Kaz meets up with the Cobra Kai of the Colossus and a friendship honeytrap ensues.

do we think Rucklin will be back for his racing revenge?

is Kaz insane for jumping on a ship-bomb to save his thieving buns?

also: does anyone think they should have given Bucket a different color scheme?

I really liked Rucklin. Even if his motives were a bit cavalier. I get it though, if racing on the Colossus is all you have, or it’s begging on the streets. Since I really dislike Kaz so far, I thought, “this charismatic kid is who Poe should have conscripted, given him an opportunity in life.” And he looks like Luke Skywalker whose life has gone differently. Of course they had to pull coaxium from Solo. I wish they would introduce some original concepts instead of just pulling ideas already done in the movies and previous shows. I can’t wait to see Yeager’s racer and watch him show everyone what an incredible pilot he is. Not the worst episode, but second worse.

it's early days, and whilst it looks like Jace could be his arch enemy on the Colossus.. i think there's potential for the kid to turn it around at some point and become real friends with Kaz.

i'm just calling that now in case it happens so that you'll all think i'm a genius :D

Bucket is perfect just the way he/she is :p

    i lurrrved this episode !

I liked the episode, like I said in another thread, but more for development of Kaz/Yeager relationship and hints of the past/future than Rucklin plot. I like that Yeager is secret badass (former pilot for the Rebellion, super racer) with potential tragic backstory (where is his family?). Tora's father (Colossus captain) observing him and Kaz after Rucklin's ship exploded might also tell us something about the future - does he know about Yeager's past?

I didn't care for Rucklin really, though I like Elijah. He strikes me as as a spoiled brat which is funny because Kaz should be a prime example of that considering who he is. His team mates I liked better. I don't know if I want him back.

BTW, this is a summary of next episode - The High Tower.

The First Order arrives at the platform for mysterious reasons and Kaz and BB-8 are determined to sneak into the tower to find out what they want.

i liked his team too. not everyone has to be a long-running character on the show, but i wouldn't mind more development and an opportunity to see whether these two become rivals or eventually work together.

Bucket is starting to grow on me. i love how the helmet is always swinging on his head ~ a nice little detail! : D

i don't mind the callbacks; it's part of the world-building. and you know if they came up with some new fuel people would complain that they're just making stuff up on the fly! or where was this fuel before? i'm sure we'll see some original stuff eventually, but they also want to tie the world together, which is a nice thing. besides, coaxium itself is barely a new thing introduced in the past year. let's give it some breathing room. : D

Bucket is one of my favorite parts of the show. I still haven't grown to like Kaz or his little escapades so far but I love the world of the show and watch it only to see what the inhabitants of this station are up to. Since Filoni likes to do droid episodes, I'm hoping we have a BB-8 and Bucket episode soon. That would be a fun adventure.

This was my favorite part of the episode, I enjoyed that reveal too. Seeing him in those rebel pilot duds with a smoking Star Destroyer behind him was very cool.

I know it's early and they are establishing and introducing characters, but a few more snippets about the actual Resistance group would be welcome!

Of the three episodes so far, this one was my favorite. And I went in expecting to hate it! I like how Kaz now has a personal antagonist over just a rival now. I felt a little annoyed at first because the main selling point of this show was to be a piloting and spy show and we've seen so little of that so far.

I get that these episodes are purposefully a slow-burn and are getting us into the atmosphere of the world this show takes place in, but at the same time, I want...more? Different? I want the show to keep its promise, and three episodes in it hasn't really done that...honestly at this point the side-characters interest me more than Kaz does...I'll keep watching though! I just feel like this show would benefit from a binging format more than anything...or maybe The Dragon Prince is spoiling me...

I think it's because the animation on the aliens seems far more natural/fluid than it does on most humans.
