Fun Speculation: Tying Up Loose Ends...

I expect KOR to be Kylo's guards as well, but for some reason I'm a bit pessimistic about this, cough Lame Luke, cough, cough... I enjoyed TLJ. I'm just saying though

The fact that there are so many unresolved issues 2 movies in says a lot about TLJ. Episode IX will be a lot of damage control.

 

I'm actually counting on some shocking revelations in Ep 9, but I doubt the last movie will have a full conclusion.
I suspect Ep 9 will be open ended with the possibility of continuing into the next saga.

 

That's what I expect too. Either the fall out of Rey going dark, or of her dying (and Kylo taking full control).

 

I just had a speculation hit me about the Knights of Ren...what if they are the “New Order” (still think that would be a great title for ep9)

Where they are essentially the grey Jedi or that’s the concept they transform into.

Let me see how I can explain my random thoughts here...ok

Sith = Pure Dark
Jedi = pure Light

Knights of Ren (speculation) are former Jedis that are heavyly controlled by Snoke but now In his absence there is conflict in them...

Kylo and Rey come together some how and Kylo brings knights from the dark and Rey ordinary people from the light (force sensative)

And through a common goal (overthrowing the first order) their differences actually make them powerful allies and a new order is born from the knowledge of the light and dark?

And they won’t all be Jedi because when w saw KoR only Kylo had light saber. Same for Rey. So I am not thinking a major showdown like the arena battle in AotC

Whew that was a long random rant but I read some of the responses on here and got the imagination going...not sure if made any sense but yeah

 

Yeah I completely agree, there were theories that they went to endor and slaughtered the Ewoks for Darth Vaders helmet and I think it would be super cool to see them tie in with the new republic. So the scene you refer to could be there?

I think that the speculation of them being controlled by Snoke is harder to believe now we have seen ep 8 because Kylo does say that he took a few jedi from the Academy with him when he left. This could infer that they left willingly. However I do agree that it would make sense if they were the Knights of Ren.

A flashback of the KoR slaughtering all the Ewoks, would make them the most despised/celebrated villains, in Star Wars history.

 

There were a ton of unresolved/unexplained/unanswered plots in the OT. It took an entire new PT trilogy to get them hashed out. Not everything needs to be explained. Focus on the narrative we are being given, not the one you want.

If you don't understand the difference between an ORIGINAL trilogy and a SEQUEL trilogy, that's on you.

 

When I read the list to cast my vote I realized that I knew the answer to every question asked.

At this point I know as much as I need to know.

No loose ends to resolve.

They've covered everything as much as necessary for the main story to move along.

If they want to go into back story details for any characters, that's totally cool. I welcome it.

Although I prefer they progress the story and continue to expand on the lore heavily.

I want new and exciting revelations. More things to think about and figure out.

Instead of being given answers, I rather be asking questions.. seeking those answers for myself.

Explanations can be a bore. Experience is what I find truly exciting.

Whilst I wanted to see the Knights of Ren on screen (and still do), I can see those being covered in a piece of spin off fiction. Possibly even telling some of the story from one of Luke's students who chose to go with Kylo. Let’s face it, knowing how the Sith are with one another I wouldn’t be surprised if Kylo had killed them all off himself.

For me I think the greatest potential is in exploring Force Ghosts. In the Legacy era there was a perception (IIRC) that Force Ghosts could linger for a time before fading away. The new canon blows that out of the water; Yoda appears and manifests the ability to interact with the physical world. For a Jedi who gave themselves peacefully to the Force (Yoda, and maybe Luke too) that’s very interesting – if a Jedi wholly submits themselves to the Force and dies, do they truly become more powerful than anyone can possibly imagine? If so, how? What does that mean? If this is the case, could Luke actually affect the physical world in Episode 9, like Yoda did?

As a side note for what I want resolved better, I wonder if structure is perhaps part of it. Looking back, TESB only had two ‘hero’ plotlines running at one time – the crew on the Falcon and Luke on Dagobah. With reflection, I wonder if part of my issue with TLJ was that it was actually trying to do too much with the three plotlines. Rey’s training and interaction with Kylo, the Rebel fleet on the run and the excursion to Canto Blight all needed screen time to tell their respective stories. Cutting out one of the plotlines (your preference may vary) could have meant a greater focus on Rey and Luke, the Rebel fleet on the run or maybe even Canto Blight. Don’t know, just wondering.
