    I still don't understand why the next two seasons have to be shorter, other than it seems like the masterminds behind the show just want it to end soon. I heard a rumor that HBO was willing to go 10 seasons with it, but the show's front runners weren't up for that. I do feel like there is a ton left to resolve in only 13-15 episodes. If they rush it now at the end, what was the point of all the other slow parts in seasons 1-5?? I think overall the pace of S6 was lightspeed compared to S1-5, and I'm sure that's not a coincidence being that this was the first season not "following" the books.

    I know, I always thought it was just because he was a bastard. They did confirm his Targaryen lineage with this neat little infographic released shortly after the season finale..

    I don't understand why they did the Lyanna whisper scene at the Tower of Joy, only to come out and confirm the speculation this way. But oh well. R+L=J !

    As for when he finds out, yeah. That's gonna be crazy. I'm kind of terrified actually haha. Like what if he decides to marry someone he shouldn't, then he finds out? Or kills someone he shouldn't?? Or Bran never gets the chance to tell him? I still am holding out for a Jon + Daenarys union (they would be nigh unstoppable), and yes I realize that's somewhat incestuous considering recent events, but if there's one thing this show has taught me it's that anything goes.

    I guess the producers did this on purpose to add on more to the speculation. This way, a lot of folks out there right after the episode were like "but we don't know he is a Targaryen for sure!" and so on.

    Targaryens are not against incest. Their lineage had a lot of siblings marriage. If he finds out, a marriage between Jon and Daenerys would be between nephew and aunt, which in history has existed between the Habsburgs (example: Philip II of Spain married his niece, Ana of Austria). Aside of it, the attitude in Westeros was sort of lukewarm towards inter-lineage unions. It might have been frowned upon, but not totally forbidden. I guess in the case of Cersei and Jaime, the big big trouble was not that he was her twin brother, the big issue was that she was married to the King so that was her being adulterer.

    That makes sense. I know there has been a history of incest all over, but I guess it's just the specific characters that make me think it wouldn't happen. For instance, Jamie and Cersei's moral code lends to an incestuous relationship being totally conceivable. For Jon and Dany, who actually practice strong moral judgement, I see the fact that they are related being harder to ignore..

    But I still think they would be great together! This is a song of ice and fire, after all ;)

    Yeah my guess is that on Season 7 the North would try to remain neutral since they know what's coming rather than wasting time playing the game of thrones in Kings Landing but finding out Daenerys has three dragons would incline them to make an alliance with her to fight the White Walkers. And then a marriage would come at the table, but by then Bran would have crossed the Wall and his mark would cause the Wall to fall down. Lol big speculation but I guess Season 8 would devote to the fight against the White Walkers.

    Actually I have been wondering, since Star Wars has never really had a (live action) presence on TV, how long before that happens? I think the only way it would work is with HBO or someone of the like, along the lines of a GoT format. Definitely needs a big budget, cinema type feel to it. Personally I'm not a fan of what Marvel has done with its 'Agents of SHIELD' tv show. I would be pretty disappointed if thats what a Star Wars show ended up being, but I'm sure I would watch nonetheless...

    Probably not the proper place for this discussion, I'm sure there is a forum around here somewhere, but when the think train gets going it's hard to stop... actually not really, it's pretty easy to stop.
