It took me a little bit to get into Clone Wars even though it was probably made for people just a few years younger than I was when it came out. I had already seen the first Clone Wars series and had been reading the new comics coming out in the mid-2000's so my experience with the era was markedly different than the first few seasons. As fun as Clone Wars became in seasons 4-6 and is in its new season, I think they missed some opportunities in incorporate the best stories from the Dark Horse Clone Wars graphic novel collections and the supremely enjoyable Genndy Tartakovsky run back into canon through Clone Wars. Season 2 of Tartakovsky's Clone Wars Obviously there is a limited amount of time they can spend on stories and have to choose the arcs they pursue carefully but there were some incredible arcs about Anakin, Quinlan Vos, and the other Jedi and Padawans who are caught up in a war they didn't want in an order that they no longer feel connected to. They even connected one of my favorite characters, A'Sharad Hett, into the wider Skywalker story through a fascinating arc with Anakin that foreshadows his later run-in with Obi-wan on Tatooine. Dooku and Ventress get a lot more depth and nuance through the Dark Horse series by adding nuance and more relatability to their motivations.

One thing I am grateful for in the current Clone Wars series is the narrative coverage of the clones. That and the introduction of Mandalore and a revived Maul, in my opinion, are its greatest strengths and its greatest contributions to the wider story.

The only thing I watched about The Clone Wars was the 2008 movie. Now, do you think I should start to watch all the seasons now? While waiting for The Mandalorian season 2, I would like to see other Star Wars series and I was considering to watch all 7 seasons of The Clone Wars. Is it worth to watch all seasons? Otherwise I may focus on other Sar Wars series such as Rebels.

I think this final season is playing to the gallery.
Does not bring anything interesting and shows the insufficiencies of Filoni (who I keep saying he is a little bit overrated).
Just 3 episodes and only we have seen a bunch of soldiers that can destroy an entire army of silly robots.
The style of the third episode is too Marvelish (even the camera movements when soldiers are fighting) and it has some embarrassing situations and dialogs.

Story wise the first four episodes have only had minor tweaks from the animatics released a few years ago. They're the closest to what the Clone Wars was during it's original run. So anything Filoni learnt or developed since won't really be on display here. I've enjoyed the Bad Batch arc a lot more than I can remember, probably a combination of seeing the finished product now and because it's been so long since we had new episodes, but it's the final two arcs that I'm really looking forward to.

When they hit they really hit, but the four episode arcs of Clone Wars could really drag sometimes as well. I think with Rebels they learnt a lot about being more economical with their storytelling so it will be interesting to see if they apply that in the new episodes or if they just tweaked a few lines/scenes to better tie in with Rebels and Mandalorian.

Ok, so if I understood right it is not worth to watch all Clone Wars seasons as I saw the movie. I will try to find some Rebels episodes.

I mean, watch what you like. I partly agree with @Madmartigan in that the new (7th) season of The Clone Wars has, so far, not be the best storytelling in the series (though production quality and music is top notch).

But previous seasons do have some really incredible episodes. The first two seasons are pretty hit or miss, but 3-5 are full of constant hits, and 6 has some interesting stuff too.

Really, I'd suggest watching it all, if you have the time. And checking out a chronological order is my personal favorite way to watch.

That being said... overall, I do like Rebels a lot better.

Basically, you can think of it like this:

Rebels is a more traditional show- core cast of characters who have an ongoing, chronological story.

Clone Wars is more experimental. Rotating cast of characters, non-chronological storytelling, seasons divided into arcs.

    Yeah...

I haven't hated the new episodes entirely, but I think they really serve to highlight how the Clone Wars formula hasn't aged all that well.

It wouldn't be nearly as bad if they all hit the same time Netflix style, but waiting each week for 20 minutes of clones to see a problem and ultimately overcome it just feels kinda repetitive now.

And it's kinda baffling that after all these years, they finally bring Rex back only to completely overshadow him by far superior clones that the audience doesn't even have much reason to care for.

That, and with only 12 episodes we're already 25% of the way through the season, with one more episode to go. It just feels like such a waste to make an entire third of this season based on this arc when so much more is at stake. Like, I'm sure we're getting Mandalore and Ahsoka later, but what about Cad Bane? Hondo? Kanan? Other jedi? There is so much stuff in the Feloniverse that I'd rather see than the Bad Batch. Ugh.

It’s definitely worth it. The Clone Wars is filled with fantastic characters, wonderful storylines, and animation that gets more and more beautiful as the show goes on. It accomplishes everything the prequels either failed to do or did poorly: it makes Anakin a great and likable character, it showcases his friendship with Obi-Wan, it has actual characters who develop, it better showcases Palpatine and his machinations, and it shows us more of the Clone Wars that Obi-Wan first mentioned back in ANH. You’d be doing yourself a disservice by not watching The Clone Wars. (Rebels is good too, but it’s best moments nowhere near the heights that The Clone Wars reached. Besides, there’s a lot of connective tissue between the two shows anyway so you might as well watch TCW first.)

As for the discussion about the Bad Batch arc, it was (for the most part) a good and fairly enjoyable arc. I understand that it was a passion project for the crew, but I would’ve definitely preferred Crystal Crisis on Utapau or a new arc altogether. For an arc that focuses on four new characters, my favorite moments of the arc had nothing to do with any of them. I loved all the stuff with pre-existing characters like Anakin and Rex, but I wasn’t too big of a fan of the Bad Batch themselves. Hunter and Tech are fine, and the other two have their moments, but the Bad Batch is just boring and overly cartoonish for me.

That’s not to say that I’m not enjoying this new season so far; quite the opposite in fact and I’m glad that we’re even getting a new season. I largely enjoyed the Bad Batch arc but I imagine that a lot of us would have received it better had this season been like twice as long. Still, that scene from the beginning of the second episode is fantastic and is probably one of my favorite moments from the entire series, so it gave us that at least.

    totally.
I had a hard time at first myself, but the Seasons get more and more "mature" imho.

The Siege of Mandalore is quite possibly some of the best Star Wars content EVER made. Just wow.

Made this as a tribute to Dave Filoni and the crew:

What is everyone's favorite clone trooper class? Mine is the commando, followed closely by BARC (biker advanced recon commando) troopers. What about you?

Surprised I didn't react to the end of this show because it was flat out fantastic.

    The last episodes were incredible.

    Thank you David Filoni.
