Wow! Ninjago City still looks really cool. Maybe a bit daunting, but the finished model is worth it! Maybe if the FO is attacking, you can have Lando, Han, and Batman fighting them off, before they go party on Naboo. ;)

I'm not too bothered about play features on the TIE Silencer, as I'd just have it on a shelf next to my FO SF TIE Fighter. I just think the design/build is a bit plain, yet cool looking at the same time. Plus the minifig selection is kinda weak. Yes, it's cool you get Kylo, but he'll probably come in a cheaper set soon enough. I like how they're including the Special Forces TIE pilots in this TLJ wave (not just with Lego), since we just got the regular one with TFA. The stormtrooper and Darth Ball are cool, but they both come in other sets. Now, if they included Luke in this set (and made the price like 10 bucks cheaper) then I'd be alll over it.

i agree the TIE Silencer is expensive for what you get.
at a discounted price, totally worth it! : D

i'm kinda bummed the new Falcon doesn't come with Lando!
guess it will have to be Rey, Finn, and X-Wing Poe to defend it with a handful other rebels at the moment.
am hoping for some cool next wave sets once the movie is out.
i've decided to skip the star destroyer for now.
i don't love the design, it's NOT the Finalizer, and i'm not that excited about the figs it comes with.

oh, also: the Ninjago set: 40 bags and 3 manuals. oh my! : D

have the galidor guy team up with the resistance

I feel the UCS Falcon should've come with
    a) more minifigs
    b) more detailed minifigs
    c) more ST Luke minifigs
But I still like the minifigs included quite a bit, plus everyone's mainly buying this set just for the Falcon. Though, if it came with a ST Luke...

40 bags... wow. Not to mention those stickers...

    hahahaha

i might bring the bounty hunters in for back up!

definitely would have liked more figs with the Falcon: Lando, Luke, and R2-D2 at least (even though i get it; R2 was never on the Falcon in--wait a minute, how did R2 get off of Cloud City???) : o O

yeah, two pages of stickers with Ninjago (they scare me).
the good thing is this set is going to teach me how to better prepare for the Falcon. i'm already realizing that this scale is going to require some separating and organizing of bricks and lots of little pans to hold things to keep them from rolling around ~ hahaha

Now if we can just get a UCS Cloud City, more prequel sets, and a ST Luke Skywalker minifigure, I'll be happy.

still building Ninjago City. i'm about halfway through ~ it's pretty intense considering i've built all of three much smaller sets before tackling this beastie. the falcon is definitely going to be a challenge with all that grey. part of what makes this one so much fun is just the huge variety of color and all the little details and play features. i'm loving it! (and so are my Star Wars mini-figs):

My experience with big display sets is rather limited - I only have Slave I, but within its build (and all other big Lego sets) there's a substantial number of colourful bricks that get covered up during the building process, so you don't see them when you're finished, but they greatly simplify the construction.

Yeah, I might be buying this one sooner than I thought. I was going to purchase some other sets on my birthday weekend, but I think I'll wait on those and get this one instead. I can't wait!

Also, here's a great site I found to find out which (major) Lego sets will be retiring soon, so it might help you peeps out. It turns out the Palace Cinema is going to retire soon, so that adds another set to my shopping list... ;)

oh ~ good to know! i noticed that a little with my sister building Kylo Ren's TIE Silencer last weekend--because otherwise it's all black and i thought she would get frustrated with it (she'd never built anything with LEGO before).

boy sets do get crazy in the price point once they're discontinued!

Okay my peeps- this Saturday I'm going to the Lego store and I'm trying to decide whether I should get the Ninjago City or the Palace Cinema and a few smaller sets. The Palace Cinema is retiring soon and I don't want to risk missing out on it, but if I don't get Ninjago City now, I don't think I'll be able to get until January and I don't want to wait that long. If I just get the Ninjago City, then I should probably be able to get the Palace Cinema by the end of the year, but it wouldn't be for another month or two. (It could already be off the shelves by then.) Any advice or thoughts?

oooo tough call. i really had a lot of fun building Ninjago City, but it's new and will be around for a while. if Cinema Palace is going out, i'd secure that first. i know that means waiting a while, but it's worth the wait and you don't want to miss out on the Palace.

    them's my two thoughts for what they're worth. : o p

Okay, I'll do that then, because you're not the first person to point that out to me.

I think I'll get that and a couple other sets (including some from the Ninjago Movie!)

So, I just built the Temple of Airjitzu this weekend (birthday gift) and it is a darn good set. Went to see TLNM Friday night, and it was a darn good movie. I also got the Palace Cinema and the Green Ninja Mech Dragon yesterday. After I build the Cinema next weekend and hopefully get the Ninjago City in October, I'll probably be done spending all sorts of cash on Lego this year. My poor wallet is finally getting some rest... for like two months!

I am mainly a lego Star Wars fan. However, I have gotten a few lego city sets back when I was a kid. Sadly, those are not around any longer.

However, I still get many laughs out of this short clip :D

He was before my time, but I know who he is. He had a cameo in The Lego Movie.

Before your time? You're younger than I thought...

Do I remember him? Sure I do! Sets from his lines were one of the few non-Bionicle sets I had (I wasn't into Star Wars when I was a kid.)

    And more powerful? ;)

Anyway, here's this awesome Flickr account who makes fantastic MOCs that you guys should check out. (Including some really cool Star Wars ones that I'd like to see as sets.)
