The scenes with the oracle were filmed? Or they just stayed on the concept arts?

Well, there was a prop for that scene:

So, it's possible that it was shot too.

I heard there was come concept art of a being on Mustafaar which was sensitive to the Force which had a blob like countenance. Is that the adorable creature portrayed with the red abdomen?

The spider like creature is called 'The Oracle'. It's probably FS, because that being would have felt the conflict within Kylo Ren.

Where was he for the last 2 films?

I mean he seems 2 outrank Hux ethier de facto or de jure.

Sorry to get off topic but this trilogy will forever go down as "how not to make a trilogy" in film schools.

Now back on topic. His acting was great.

One of my favourite little moments of Grant’s performance is the double-take he does as Kylo slams that other guy (General Quinn, I believe he’s called) up on the ceiling.

I loved Grant's performance and dug the Pryde character as a concept.

But I also agree with those who feel that making Hux even more of a throwaway comic relief character than he was in TLJ was a mistake. I love that moment when Finn turns the cannon on the star destroyer's bridge and Pryde comes running up to the viewport and has a second or so to realize what's coming before the blast overtakes him... but IMHO that should have been Hux's final moment of comeuppance.

Excuse me if someone's already mentioned it I didn't check every comment but the references as to how Peter Cushing's Tarkin like he was. It's my understanding can't remember where I read it but he specifically studied Peter Cushing's Tarkin for this role. I'm sure Grant would love your comment for noticing.

It definitely felt like they were going for a Tarkin-like character, and I think it worked pretty well. I enjoyed seeing Grants interviews leading up to the premiere. He seemed really excited to be a part of the Star Wars universe, so he is probably happy about getting to play a Tarkin-type.

To me the character felt clearly shoehorned in to make the First Order menacing or Empire-ish.. after Hux had been turned into a comic relief in TLJ. Richard E Grant did a good job, should have been there from TFA.

i still feel that his character came out of nowhere and and made no sense to the plot besides a quick line to working for the republic(?)/Empire

I feel like Pryde should've been in all three and brought that cunning, cold quality that Richard E. Grant does so well to the whole trilogy.

Just totally replace Hux with him. Hux was too simpering and sniveling. Pryde was a VILLAIN. And his death, awesome as it was, would've had more oomph behind it..

I'm hoping we see him as a villain in some Original Trilogy era stuff. I mean, he talks about serving Palps in the old wars. Maybe he could even show up in the latest Star Wars comic run?

    ‘Pride comes before a fall’

    or the fuller biblical quote:

"Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall."

    :)
