    I don't think it was necessarily NEEDED, but it was most definitely an epic, cool prologue for the show that elevated it IMO. It gave me chills and the scene was like a minute long.

    As I heard the words uttered that is EXACTLY what I thought and it would make for a killer title. Not only that I think it sets the theme for the ST and movies beyond Episode IX as we now follow the children of the Force in the aftermath of everything that has come before. I would totally dig that as a title.

    Oh, and I agree 100% -- "children of the Force" simply refers to the Force attuned beings that now have no Jedi order to seek them out and train them. Very epic concept IMO as my theory on this attests.

    Two problems - he had thought that his child (he never figured out he fathered twins until the very end of his final duel with Luke) died with his wife, and another, he wouldn't want them dead if his kid was somehow alive. He was fairly protective of Luke even though they were on opposing sides of the war.
