That would be interesting so all of Seasn 3 was Thrawn reliving it as he lays dying.
Personally Iam hopping that Thrawn Kills The would be assassin.

Also does any one know how the cast record there dialogue. I e do they do all there recordings in a block or episode by episode?

I think those who do it long-distance and don't have major roles like Warwick could do it all at once or in a couple of sessions. I know the rest of the team does it together episode by episode so they could act off each other.

I say it again, I really hope Rukh is just a red herring.

I just realized a connection between Rebels and clone wars.

Sabine's weapon vaporizes organic matter while leaving everything else intact. This reminded me of the clone wars episode where Lott Durd attacks the Lurhman village with an experimental separatist weapon.

I'm pretty new to the Rebels fandom, but I'm in love with it. Something that occurred to me recently...Ezra's schooling and education. Having become an orphan living mostly on the streets at the age of 7, did his formal schooling end there? Assuming Lothal has formal schooling; if not, then I guess it would be left up to the parents, in which case he still was without teaching. At the age of 14, joining the Ghost crew, he seems fairly well educated for having missed most of his school years. Any theories on this?

Very good points. Character development can be just as important as story- sometimes even more so.

That being said, I disagree with the idea that The Clone Wars was immune from the Filler epidemic. While maybe not technically "filler" as the series lacked a cohesive single plot (or even fully chronological storytelling), certain arcs definitely felt included for the sake of buffing a season's episode count. And in my opinion, I'd rather have a filler episode than what is essentially is a filler arc.

Though, I still do love The Clone Wars. I don't think people need to pick sides. We've had two exceptional Star Wars animated shows in the last decade, I say embrace it all! :)

That article is pretty much spot-on. The "filler epidemic" IMO is really more about the fan's lack of patience than it is a writing flaw, in many cases. I've said it many times before, but if there were no "teaser" trailers that showed us the end results of the season before they happened, I would bet a huge sum of money that fans would like the so-called filler episodes more. If someone gave you too many bits of info about the last few chapters of a novel, you would get more antsy throughout the other chapters. The marketing of a novel rarely gives as much info as is given in these teaser trailers for Rebels (and other shows like it). While I love getting a sneak peak, I definitely have realized they have increased my level of dissatisfaction throughout the season, because I saw too many bits, and my brain filled in the gaps "the way I wanted", so that when I finally see the episode, I am comparing what I have been expecting for weeks with what I am seeing on the screen.

I really don't understand why everyone things TCW is somehow different. If anything, the 4 episode arcs were worse in terms of "filler". In many of the 4 episode arcs, the arc could have easily been told in 2 or 3 episodes. Often one whole episode was really nothing more than one "scene" from the arc, stretched out to fill an entire episode, given the appearance of an "ending" which really didn't resolve anything. I would watch some of them and think "nothing happened, really, did it?" It wasn't really a cliffhanger, but it wasn't really a resolution, either.

Certainly, there are some episodes I have liked less than others with Rebels, and they are more likely to be the standalone "bottle" episodes since those tend to push the envelope a bit more. I love the over-arching storylines, but actually enjoy the breaks in the pace, especially since SWR almost always includes some nugget that feeds into the larger story, even in the standalones.

Yeah, the arcs could get tedious at times. There was certainly filler within the arcs themselves, and it didn't help with the entire arc felt uninspired to begin with.

You know, that's a good point.
    Consider this trailer:

Can you really blame anyone for anticipating the impending Maul v Obi Wan showdown, in addition to the impending showdown with Thrawn, and wonder why one of the finale episodes of the season was a droid centric lighthearted affair?

To be honest, I liked the late season droid episode quite a bit- but its placement among the hype probably at least in part contributed to why it was so poorly received.

No, I can't blame them - that's why I see it as such an issue. We don't want to wait, and are clamoring for nuggets in the trailers, but they in many ways are the thing that lessens the overall enjoyment of the show long-term. At the same time, the network wants to drum up new viewers, and that doesn't seem to happen by just being vague and saying "it's going to be great" anymore - they feel the need to give us actual content, or many won't watch (but then complain it didn't go as they envisioned in the long gap before it actually aired). Vicious cycle.

I like your wording - "its placement among the hype...contributed to why it was so poorly received" - it wasn't the placement among the episodes, but among the hype.

I wonder how it'll hold up now that people have already seen the finale, now.

I guess I was at a slight advantage because I actually started watching Rebels pretty recently (the finale was the first episode I watched by the time I was caught up). So, Maul's thing was already out by the time I got to the droid episode. I actually viewed the droid thing as the deep breath before the plunge, which is why I enjoyed it so much. Maybe, now that the anticipation is over, people might be able to take a step back and give it another chance.
