I've been watching this show on DVD and I'm up to around episode 4 of Season 1 and I must say I am finding it hard to tolerate Kazudo and therefore enjoying the show. While he was sent by Poe to find a spy, it's like that's all he wants to do and tries to get out of doing anything else. I can clearly see why it only lasted two seasons.

For me, the only character who is actually likeable is Torra.

I rewatched Season One relatively recently and for the first couple episodes, I found myself questioning why I enjoyed it when it was first airing. Rest assured, the show does get better as the season goes along. The childish marketing for the show really was only accurate for the first handful of episodes.

This was my first time watching Season Two though and, yeah, I was pretty underwhelmed. Season One ended on a high note that this season didn’t really capitalize on.

Compare that to Rebels where Season One ends with the Ghost crew finding out about the other rebel cells and Ahsoka and Vader show up. Season Two immediately picks up on this with the Ghost crew fighting with Phoenix Squadron (with Kanan questioning if they should be a part of a larger rebellion) and Ahsoka and Vader are playing a significant role. We don’t really get this sort of progression with Resistance. The season begins with, and I really hate using this term, a goofy “filler” episode and then the storyline for Season 2 becomes kinda aimless for most of its duration.

Kaz’s character remains pretty static. I was really hoping he would have matured after the destruction of his home world, but he doesn’t develop at all in Season 2. Yeager, Synara, and the Dozas were the only characters I had any investment in. (As well as the characters from the movies, but appearances from them were few and far between.)

Not to say that Season 2 didn’t have some highlights: the episodes that took place away from the Colossus tended to be mu favorites, especially the two part Missing Agent episodes. That was the most like Star Wars this show ever felt and it tied in with the actual Resistance (something this show really shied away from oddly enough, despite its name and occasional appearances from Poe and Leia.

^I enjoyed the show myself, but those are all good points. I feel as though the third season that never was would've addressed a lot of those issues. Really, I think Resistance's biggest flaw was simply the fact that it got cut short.

As I just replied on General Rebels talk, that recent rewatch improved vastly my view on the series, I won't go near Resistance ever again.
Only thing that I might watch in the future will be the finale, which Alex Damon of SW Explained regarded as quite good, I was really dissapointed by the series.

I was biased against Rebels premiering a bit, as Clone Wars being canceled after Disney purchased SW, covered the epic galaxy wide conflict in more detail and vastly expanding on the Prequel Trilogy lore, but in Rebels, we were stuck on one planet with one rag tag group that at first wasn't much interesting to me... But as the series ended with fourth season, with everything in it and connecting the series in bigger picture, I fell in love with it and even tough it was more small scale, because it focused on small band of rebels doing small covert operations, I regard it now as one of the classics next to CW and it also finished some of the stories introduced in CW and made a nice connection. The circle was complete...

But Resistance... Two seasons on one space station that wasn't much important as the series made us believe it was.
I have quit watching it first before the season one finale and then second time and finally, halfway in season two.
I have missed some lore building and bigger connection that CW and Rebels had. CW improved the Prequels and Rebels made a nice bridge from Prequels to Original Trilogy. Resistance did nothing... Even Jedi Fallen Order made a way bigger and just one shot of lore building with "wow, so Illum really is a Starkiller base!", which in Resistance, there was just a mined asteroid and some action of the week chase episode to venture out of the space station for a bit.
Or, wow, something happened on Dakkar.

I wouldn't mind the characters as they were, but if they were somehow connected to the movies and there was some lore building and teasing of the major movie events or something more, like CW and Rebels did. But it was just boring sidestory, that kids might enjoy when they stumble on it airing in programming, but for me, there wasn't any added value and the series was just waste of time.
And as a fan of podracing, the racing was highly promoted when the series was starting and I was expecting a Star Wars series about a bunch of racers, racing... we got just bits of that here and there and there was even no Resistance. Just the population of one small base on backwater world, resisiting the first order (with shoehorned in Phasma and some stormtrooper being interesting just for being gold) wanting to make them a stop-by fuel depot.

What I liked: The art style wasn't bad and was quite detailed. And the two guys from the parts shop business were fun.

Change my mind... no, really, I am quite open person, liking all PT, OT and ST for various reasons with even some nitpicking for all of them,
but Resistance to me is not the worst, but in the group of shows/movies Caravan Of Courage, Holiday Special and Droids to me. Totally skippable.

At the time I was watching through Resistance when it first came out, I actually liked it a bit better than Rebels. Since whereas Rebels felt similar to TCW, Resistance felt much more stylistically distinct and its own thing, and thus felt fresher and more interesting to me. Although now in hindsight, I think Rebels ultimately held up better.
