Agreed TROTS give us enough of a scene.

 

The whole scene felt really rushed, though, and the all the CGI elements did not help the scene look real at all. It, like 99% of AOTC and ROTS, looked so cartoonish that empathy or astonishment of what was happening was lost because of the lack of credibility from the FX. If we now get to see an actual prop, that might look realistic, then it may make for a new unforgettable scene.

 

Agreed, they should gone a bit slower but I guess they sped it up because Ani was probably nearly dying at the time.

I agree, but they should have also used practical effects on certain parts to make it look better. The BIGGEST issue with the prequels is not the story or crappy dialogue, but rather the rushed CGI that hardly ever fooled the eyes of the audience to make them invested in the action, like practical effects can achieve. It all looked like a video game.

Also, probably been touched on, we're all agreeing that Galen Erso, most likely put the Thermal Exhaust Port in on purpose?
Because, being forced to design a super weapon is not okay! MKAY! Not to mention, it repairs the whole Port Hole reasoning from OT....

 

So, the Scarif DLC was released for Battlefront Season Pass owners today and I played a few matches.
When you choose one of the new "heroes" (Jyn or Krennic), a short theme is playing.
Is that from Michael Giacchino's score?

 

Many of you are excited - even more excited than for TFA - and with good cause...

However, the playful music in the clip we saw along with the "over-the-shoulder" detonator toss and "no-look" blaster shot have me concerned that this could be too playful. I know it is being sold as a gritty war film but if the tone does not match the dialogue or action scenes than the comic relief can come across as forced. A little is fine and normal within Star Wars, but too much can be distracting. This is probably my only reservation heading into the film. I am sure the acting and camera-work will be top-notch.

 

I am curious, is that U-Wing on the right flying into and through the incoming X-Wings? Interesting tidbit if that is what is being shown.

 

You may well be right. I just dont see the blue paint stripe that should be on the nose. The back should be a darker gray too though.
