Rey dying in order to save whom? If its Kylo, then this entire trilogy was a blast-show and I wont bother watching any of it ever again. There is nothing about Kylo that warrants such a sacrifice by anyone.

Dying to save the galaxy? Sure. But that would be a waste of her character as well and make the trilogy almost equally irrelevant.

I only see this going one way, and that is Kylo dying for a greater good - either for Rey, the galaxy, or something else.

The writers and directors have painted themselves in this corner by not expanding enough in TFA and concluding too much in TLJ.

This is the kinda BS I hate. They say this stuff as way to discredit and invalidate those who didn't like the movie. I hated the movie because I thought it was terrible. Terrible story and terrible character choices. Literally has nothing to do with there being powerful women. I hated Holdo, not because she had a vagina but because the character was an idiot. How come people can't just not like it?

The IndieWire person asked a leading question in the first place by focusing on criticism of TLJ with anti-woman hate.

This is a generalisation and excuse that I don't like at all. Here is one video reviewer who exactly fits into this category JJ means .

First of all, it's a biased joke of an article. Like other ones I've seen on that website. It's fine to have an opinion, but it's not cool when you try to pose it as a piece of quasi-journalism.

As for the newest rumour itself, it's obviously better not to take it seriously. Maybe it's right, maybe it isn't. To me it looks like it's exactly what the anti-TLJ crowd wants to hear, which is kind of too convenient. But who knows.

If it's true that Trevorrow wanted to change so much, it's logical that he was fired. Sorry, he was brought in to do IX and should respect what was established in VIII and go from there. Like it or not - that's the passing-on-the-baton system they've decided to roll with. Pair Colin's attitude (if true) with the questionable level of his previous works and I have no doubts that letting him go was the right decision.

I did not see The Book of Henry, but critics thought it was terrible and add on top of their "creative differences" it was probably an easy decision for Lucasfilm. At this point, it's worthless speculating on what could have been. I won't lie, I'm curious though to what made Daisy Ridley reportedly "cry" by Colin's script.

So wait... you mean to tell me... the two biggest driving forces behind Trevorrow's script were a living Luke Skywalker and Snoke?! And the handling of those two characters in TLJ, including their deaths are two of the biggest complaints about the film... WOW!! WHAT A COINCIDENCE!!

There could be truth to it, but the redditor seems to have a clear agenda to get anti-TLJ'ers even more riled up than they already are.

The Hamill part is more interesting and it does lend some credence to the redditor's story having some truth to it, but you know... I've said it before, as much as I love and respect Mark Hamill, I don't trust his judgement when it comes to telling a story. There's plenty of examples of him in the past saying, "Oh I would've done this...", or "I think it would've been better if..." and almost all of his ideas completely overshadow the new characters.
