i would seriously love that story line. i sadly doubt it will go that way... but i'd love it to.

 

We got a long, elaborate "leaked" script back then, titled "The last jedi".
I haven't read it as the dialogues on the first pages felt flat to me, but now it's pretty suspicious. I mean what is the chance of nailing the title?
Can it be a coincidence?

 

i also like that they are producing more groups affiliated with the Force (I'd LOVE to see the KoR get fleshed out, i know JJ has said theres a whole backstory for them, not that they are necessarily ALL force sensitive, but the Master is, soo...).
what im personally afraid of - and while this is my opinion, its mostly based off of lore and already cemented dynamics - is that the Jedi will be made out to be a group that interpreted prior groups' (the Whills?) teachings on the Force the wrong way.
So say the First Jedi Temple is where Luke has been for some time because he's searching for answers on the Force (since, ya know, being disillusioned wouldnt necessarily be unrealistic in his position - daddy ushered in the Empire, nephew brought First Order to prominence, killing his students in his new Order/Academy + Han) compound this with the Journal of the Whills at the start of TFA novelization (something to do with 'refined Jedi sight' and the Whills becoming not just EU/periphery lore, as Rogue One showed us), it very much scares me that the Jedi in charge post-Whills (this would include all of the films) will be villain-ised, or, made out to have interpreted the ancient texts of the Whills wrongly, essentially making out that the Jedi that followed (carrying these values/principles/knowledge over to the next gen) have been dead wrong, indirectly causing the Wars that have occurred since (including the Jedi/Sith, Jedi/Mandalorian, Clone War, Galactic Civil War and now the conflict between the First Order/New Republic) and only the new 'refined Jedi sight' or 'grey Jedi' are the way forward.

What my preference would be, is for most of these things to remain intact (if, of course, my interpretation of where things could be heading is correct/has some merit), just minus the part that the Jedi have interpreted things the wrong way. I really dislike the idea of 'grey' being 'ideal' in the context of what we, the audience, have seen on film and the novels - that the Light and Dark are distinctly separate, that the Dark can corrupt the Light and overpower it; as Anakin, Vos, Kylo, Ezra, and Dooku have all shown or are showing us. these things have mostly been extrapolated from real life religions/philosophy, such as the Jedi being Stoic and Monk like, so as not to lead to the Dark side. that all gets thrown out the window if its about 'controlling' your 'Dark side' that 'everyone has within them'.

now i know this is slightly off topic and i am venting, but theres a lot of positive points within what Disney have been doing with the IP, i just really do hope that they dont take the intentionally separate paradigms of Good vs Evil and turn what we know into something that it was never meant to be. again though, i do love characters that straddle the line, Jolee from KOTOR, again, is a perfect example - but it should be noted that in-universe these individuals harnessing both sides of the Force would be both incredibly dangerous and have the potential to fall to the Dark Side (just like any other Jedi wholly on the Light).

Pablo Hidalgo has essentially disproved this theory, none of the Rebels cast, or the show itself, will have anything major directly related to the Sequel Trilogy. Ezra is an original Rebel's character, so i would most likely back track on such a theory (plus it would need a lot of retroactive explaining, which SW doesnt do very often, other than vague allusions)

 

Sounds like it's worth a review.

I think most of that stuff can fit into act 1, with some act 2 spillover

LFL has done a great job protecting the secrecy of the third act of both TFA & RO.

We'll get some details of course, but I'm going to try to assume the third act will be almost completely secret until October. Easier said than done.

 

Most of it is not in the right order. I believe the Kylo and Rey stuff happens in the first Act.

I have to agree. I've read the dialogues on the first few pages and they feel off to me. Also, the crawl supposedly refers to Rey as "Force-sensitive".
I really doubt they would use this fan-term in any of the real movies.

I skimmed it through page 47, and wow...
Apparently Finn sticks a fedora on C3PO before going into the casino, then later Finn "pulls off his shirt, spins it ower his head, and whips it into the audience as the girls dance around him".
I mean... I appreciate the humour of the writer, but I doubt they would bend Finn's character into pure ridiculity after EP VII (where he already was a funny sidekick). John Boyega said in an interview that his character was going to have a more physical role in ep VIII. I doubt this is what he'd describe as "physical".

 

There is a reason why he hit the gym. Maybe Star Wars audience will be finally introduced to a magical world of lapdance?

 

Jeez. I applaud the guys effort with that and it presented some interesting ideas for sure:

Why Rey got left behind. Why Kylo hated his father (thought he was unfaithful). Who Snoke is and the KoR...

How do we know it is fake?
I mean, there is some seriously compelling stuff in there...

 

To be blunt, this looks like complete blast to me.

 

Until someone convinces me otherwise, I think this is real...all of it.
The stuff about Rey's past is compelling and it provides a clever reason for why Ben hated his father.

 

i've only had a brief look, but i saw things like Luke mentioning that he learned his abilities when he was 19... not something one would say in the SW world.

i applaud the amount of work that's gone into it, and i always enjoy reading them... but looks fake to me.

 

Snoke isn't even Plagueis Comfirmed. It's lies! All of it!

The writer nailing the title is very suspicious indeed. I haven't read the whole stuff (I stopped when Finn spinns his shirt and dances around), but there are some things that don't match up.

First, the writing style. Right in the crawl. Using the words "New Republic" twice in a short sentence is a mistake Rian Johnson would definitely not make imo.
Some of the word choices scream fan fiction and not canon material. "Force-sensitive" for instance. Or "Jedi Academy" (page 15.) I think Pablo Hidalgo even confirmed that the jedi school won't be referred to as "Jedi Academy". Also, "Mara Jade Skywalker". I know this isn't an objective argument, but... no.
Dialogues like " We can rule the galaxy together as mother and son", or " I love you, I know"... Doubt it. Sure, TFA "borrowed" a lot from the OT, but never full lines of dialogues like this.

Second. There are many contradictions with the MSW stuff we know. Se eithert the MSW stuff is false, or this script.
I haven't read the whole stuff, but there is no mention of the force tree for instance, or the "convorees".
As some pointed out, the actor who played Wedge refused to return to the ST. Billie Dee Williams returning is also highly unlikely.

And thrid. A full script leak like this is EXTREMELY unlikely. I mean, how did the guy get it? The real script is printed on photocopy-proof paper. The credible TFA stuff were just fragments and description. Not even remotely close to a script like this.

However, we can easely confirm the credibility when the first trailier comes out.
