Oh, no need to apologize. We don't know everything for certain, so even possibilities that seem unlikely can still come true. There's absolutely nothing wrong with speculation.

There is no way this will be anywhere near ready in may. He would have seen at most a rough cut with no originall music & incomplete VFX they are probably still deciding on a finally cut so the chances of it being anyway ready in may is 0%

Originally TLJ was supposed to be released on the 26th of May but was put back until December so maybe the filming process has gone very smoothly this time around and lessons have been learnt from Rogue One? If they finish early, (August/September??) I suspect they'll still keep tinkering right up until the December release.

Also, is Bob Iger implying there will be no more re-shoots? On hearing news of Carrie's death I immediately thought they'd call everyone back in the Spring for extensive re-shoots. Whatever is happening, it looks like there is certainly no 'Rogue One like crisis' in the production this time around despite all that's happened with Carrie.

I don't think there will be reshoots; at most, perhaps, some pick-up shots for certain locations. I can't remember if I said it in this thread, or another, but Star Wars, unlike many other films, is scored after the film is completed by, of course, the wonderful John Williams.

Principal photography wrapped up July last year, and Rian Johnson began editing the film mid-August, with Williams reportedly beginning the scoring of the film in December (booked through until late March if required).

The only thing I don't think is complete yet is the CGI and other post-production special effects, such as sound mixing - which they'll likely continue to tune until later this year - but other than that, I think the film's pretty much complete. Let's not forget that locations and time allotments for sets were likely detailed/outlined before the release of TFA, so it makes sense that they've stuck to a timetable that pretty much confirms a similar - if not identical - schedule as was originally planned before the release date was delayed.

When they first announced they were gonna make the sequels I always wondered if they'd kill off one of the big 3 actors in each of the 3 sequel movies.

No need to apologise my friend; my comment was focused more on the unreliability of the source/s the Express cites, not your sharing of it: I'm quite glad you did, as even if it doesn't come to fruition, it's still an interesting read! :)

Another week, another film from the list of TLJ's inspirations. This time I watched Gunga Din, a 1939 American adventure flick staring Carry Grant. It tells a story of three British soldiers, who find out that an ancient cult reemerged after 50 years (they are quite similar to the cult from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.) In the meantime, one of the trio soon leaves the military to get married and the Carry Grant character finds out about an ancient temple which supposedly has a huge treasure inside it. The last of the main characters is Gunga Din, a Hindu water carrier that wants to become a soldier.

One of the most important points of focus of the film is the cult of Kali and its charismatic leader. Throughout the film British soldiers say that 50 years before the cult disturbed India and the leader has very serious plans for expansion from his hidden fortress, similarly to the First Order. Also in this film, an underappreciated character,
    Gunga Din,
shows incredible bravery, saves our main heroes and finally gets the respect he deserved. If there's a character tha fits this description, it's probably Chewbacca. Also, there's a subplot of bringing a soon-to-retire soldier back to the military, but I cannot identify which character it might refer to (or if it will appear at all in Episode VIII.) Overall, another interesting pick to this collection of films. Four more to go!
