    I think they didn't include it because they want to milk the deleted scenes on these movies for everything they're worth by releasing them over the course of several rereleases.

    No, it was real. They've gone on record in saying that they had a scene with Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader as part of the Bespin flashback which they cut to make the scene more mysterious (can't find a source on this), and it's actually mentioned in a book (which is canon).

    Although the MF outline suggests that there could have been a scene where Luke spoke - it's the one where he, Han, Leia, and Ben met for the last time before he trained his nephew.

    even if TLJ would leak I wouldn't dare watching that leak, except maybe that I wouldn't be able to make it to the cinema for whatever reason.

    I recall Mark Hamill saying in this years celebration, super briefly, that there were lines that got cut at the very end. Not even sure if they were shot.

    I think there was also a talk by one of the editors that mentioned this as well and how it got cut.

    I think he really jumped to conclusions here. Same with the whole report he did on the insane "Kylo Ren gets attacked by flying Porgs" rumor, which has since been debunked by MSW (as Porgs can't fly as far as they can tell).

    One minor clarification: When a book and film are in conflict on a point, the film takes canon precedence. EG: Finn's wounds are different in the novelization.

    That being said, leaving out the shot of Luke and Vader in Rey's vision does not create a canon discontinuity.

    So, that shot of the destroyed mask is probably in the first act of the movie then. That's good, helmetless Kylo Ren is the right way to go. IMO Adam Driver's acting skill is the best one of the new players.
