No, unfortunately Rian's only involvement was the exchange for Artoo-Detoo.

I could of sworn that RJ requested JJ he changed or added something to the Force-back.

That's interesting, but no. Rian only ever asked for one change, per his own admission, to place Artoo with Rey. I do know, though, that there were rumors and reports of Rian asking for a change to The Force Awakens before he directly acknowledged it, and several bait sites ran coverage suggesting it was to the Forceback. That's all I could source, though.

I think JJ took stuff out because he felt it might limit RJ or something on those lines

Thanks guys! U all da best! Now back on topic. As seen with the director duo of the Solo flick, Disney can replace a director(s) anytime day want. Since RJ mostly wrote 9 he'll probably have no problem directing it.

He has already said that he hadn't been involved in any way in the process of writing Episode IX.

Yeah, Colin is entirely writing and directing Episode IX, Rian's only involvement with IX was when Colin asked Rian to shoot something for him.

In the latest issue of the new Darth Vader comic, which takes place immediately after Order 66, Darth Vader visits a Jedi outpost where he finds information about a Jedi who has taken the Barash Vow.

"Any Jedi pursuing Barash has sworn to refrain from activities related to the [Jedi] Order. Complete disengagement from anything but the Force. It is a type of penance. While a Barash-taker would have felt the purge [of Order 66], they would not have allowed themselves to respond to it, or take action of any kind."

Screen Junkies News discusses speculation that (old) Luke has taken the Barash Vow, which would explain his absence in the past six years.

I bet it's a line where Luke says "I wish i had a child like you." to Rey.

    Sigh.

Whatever it was was location-sensitive from the sound of things.

Although I do think there was something about MSW mentioning that Luke regrets not starting a family or something like that.

Probably involved Skellig Island given how touchy filming there can be

Probably, yeah. Seems like they have to pull the most gymnastics off in order to be able to film there whereas everything else seems like it should be easy to do or fake.

It could be a location thing, a flashback,an actor availability thing, or a combination of factors.

Lucas shot the end of ROTS while shooting AOTC's Tattoines location work, because why go back, deal with remaking the costumes, actors schedules, and all the other continuity headaches when you need a quick shot.

It'll be interesting to see what CT ha do him shoot.

Time will tell if KK will let it be included in EIX.

That's the example I thought of too, although I do think there's still a chance this is a story-related thing that's just meant for The Last Jedi.

Since it's just a small bit within the scene Rian was already making (Colin had to have read the script before starting his), I don't think it was something that would change Rian's scene or film in any significant way but has an emotional or other payout in Colin's. A line, focus on certain part of location, character or something like that.

We didn't know Rian asked JJ to send R2 instead of BB-8 to Ach-To until recently - that has to have a payout in Luke's reunion with R2 in TLJ. It has to be something similar to that.

the big question remains, who is snoke!

if you ask me it is probably a new character but it's still fun to speculate about it.....

To me Snoke is a classic example of lazy thinking. If he's not a former legacy character then what was he doing 4 the last 60 sum odd years? Clearly if he is new he is not anywhere near the power levels of Palpatine or Vader.
