I don't know if this is the right thread to post it. Anyway:

Yesterday, during the webcast dedicated to "Disney’s Q1 FY16 Earnings Results" ( https://thewaltdisneycompany.com/disneys-q1-fy16-earnings-results-webcast/ ), Bob Iger confirmed that filming of "Star Wars: Episodio VIII" 'has just commenced' and that filming of "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" 'is virtually finished'. (you can hear him around 4:00)

Also the production of Star Wars: Episode IX has officially started.

 

Well this could be the first SW which would jump time during the movie.
I think Finn waking up would be perfect for a time skip. Honestly, I dont think they could do it better.
If they jump time before the movie that would cause confusion, as we wouldn't see Luke's reaction to Rey.
But if they countine right after TFA that would cause serious story prombles (and limitation), as the recovery of First Order, Rey' training, Kylo's training (plus recovery), and probably a lot other new elements certainly will need time.

 

I wonder if Benicio Del Toro will play the Kanjiklub boss in VIII. If they ever reference it.

 

OK...Where's them TMZ set leaks?!?!?!

CEO Bob Iger revealed that not only has production begun on Star Wars: Episode VIII, but also that work on Star Wars: Episode IX is underway too.

“Filming of Star Wars: Episode VIII, the next chapter of the legendary saga, has just commenced and it will be in theaters December 2017. And production of Episode IX, a 2019 release, has also begun.”

 

Maybe they started on studio sets?
A bit harder to get leaks of those.


Or perhaps Lucasfilm are tightening security even further?

I don't think they would be tightening security for VIII as I'm willing to bet that a lot of the plot leaks were leaked on"purpose" or the majority of the staff would/should have been fired and sued...although I do agree that it's most likely studio sets right now as Arian & Co. Have all been spotted in London .

Oh dear, I hope this isn't true. Otherwise it looks like they're going ahead with the last two things I wanted to happen: the Republic destroyed and Finn being set up to fight with Phasma.

 

There was a really early photo of an AT-AT foot being rolled into/out of a tent in Abu Dhabi, TMZ scored a bunch of Niima Outpost photos, there were also the occasional photo leaks from Pinewood lot sets (Tuanul village and Maz Kanata's castle), and drone footage from Greenham Common.

We've also had a few set photo leaks for Rogue One, with drone photos from some tropical island looking set on the Pinewood lot during filming, as well as some Yavin IV temple set photos, and some images of a black X-wing.

All we've had on VIII so far, have been a few photos with crew tents on Skellig Michael.
